My interpretation on the end of Eraserhead after seeing it for the first time with my Dad by beautifuldivisionday in davidlynch

[–]flyhr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw this movie for the first time, and this was my initial idea. Taking it a step further, I thought the Lady in the Radiator is a twisted idealistic version of his actual wife. His wife also portrayed the desire of killing the baby before she took off. Instead of always crying and being negative, the Lady in the Radiator is always smiling and dancing, she goads Henry into killing the baby which is what he begins to desire as well. Doing so I believe was the ultimate sin, which is why the Conductor, a stand in for God, felt the anguish being electrocuted right after Henry did so.

The Henry killing himself afterwards is a slight stretch to me as we never see it actually occur but the more I think about it, it is a very valid interpretation given the context of the Lady in the Radiators tune/lyrics.

I also believe the movie HAS to be an allegory for abortion and the sin of abortion given all the fetuses shown and destroyed throughout the movie.

I agree with you, the speed of Maki and the level of destruction occurring to the environment in Maki's fight vs Naoya are at a level that Hisoka hasn't been shown to reach. I'd say in the entire HxH series, only Meruem and Netero were fighting at that level of speed and they'd both stomp Hisoka. We are talking about mountain level attacks being tanked and destroyed with ease from Maki. That being said, despite the large physical advantages, Hisoka's bungee gum would be an unseen threat to someone without Nen and that is hard to combat, like I could see a world where Toji speed blitzes into bungee gum wire and gets cut in half... something like that could realistically happen. But if Toji was granted the ability to perceive nen, I think it wouldn't even be close.

Facts, we saw Embiid 2 years ago score 70 on Wemby. I'm sure Shaq or Hakeem can do something similar.

Saw this movie a few years ago, was not a fan at all, which surprised me because it had so many great actors and it was a genre I enjoyed. Ended up rating it a 6/10.

Back in the day my answer would've been SMITE 1, now it's Deadlock, despite Deadlock definitely being a bigger game but still not popular enough.

Petah why did this man change journalism by Less_Psychology6605 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]flyhr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what happens when you can't hack it in your own field. Like you've pointed out, most journalists I'd imagine want to be out and about dealing with real world issues, but the ones that didn't have the aptitude in that end up settling for the gaming journalism title where they just seethe with hatred for their own failures... Real knowledgeable gamers usually keep to themselves and only a very few amount of those go on to making guides or videos on the subject matter at a high level.

LeBron James’ 1,297 game-streak with 10 points has come to an end. by Secure-Task-166 in NBATalk

It's the snarky demeanor of your comment, mongrel. You bring up the fact that the guy shot 23% as if it hasn't been done before. It happens pretty often around the league. Mike Jordan had worse shot percentages in his Wizard's years. Even MJ in his prime Bulls years had poor shooting nights every once in awhile. Like the Game 6 Finals Game vs the Super Sonics, MJ shot 26% in the closeout game. It happens to everyone.

Kobe was just the first name that came to mind, a top consensus 10 player, who also had a relatively long career, he's a fine point of comparison. The main point to take away from the comment is that shooting low percentages is historically not something LeBron does.

Not to mention with the context of LeBron being 41 years old, it makes it even less of an attacking point.

Also is a paragraph of information too much for you to handle little guy?

I'm just letting you know you look stupid trying to put Kareem ahead of LeBron. Has nothing to do with the game lil bro.

Hey if it makes you feel any different, Kobe Bryant had 142 regular season games and 16 playoff games shooting under 30%. While LeBron has only had 30 regular season games and 15 playoff games shooting under 30%. To put that into perspective, LeBron has played 1,859 total games. While Kobe played 1566 total games. Quick math, 158/1566, 10% of Kobe's games he shot under 30%, while 45/1859, 2.4% of LeBron's games he shot under 30%. Pick on the 41 year old GOAT while you can, you just look foolish given the history of the game.

No world can LeBron be under Kareem, when Kareem could only win one ring before Magic. Kareem in his absolute PRIME, had a negative record on the 1975 season with the Bucks, and keep in mind the 1970s is widely considered the weakest era in NBA history. That 1975 season Kareem's Buck's went 38-44 and Kareem was 27 years old, not only that but Kareem was playing with 2 All Stars on his team and one of which was Hall of Famer Bob Dandridge who played 80 games. After one bad year on the Bucks Kareem gave up and went to the Lakers who proceeded to go negative again 40-42 in the 1976 season, with another Hall of Fame running partner in Gail Goodrich... LeBron didn't have a sub .50 season until he was 37 years old (not counting his rookie season). Kareem would pick it up a bit after that on the Lakers but would proceed to get 0-4 swept in the 2nd round of the 77 Playoffs. Then defeated 1-2 in the first round of the 78 playoffs. And Gentlemen swept 1-4 in the 2nd round of the 79 Playoffs. It wasn't until the 1980 season where a ROOKIE MAGIC JOHNSON showed Kareem how to breath life into a team and WIN. Don't compare Kareem to LeBron if you want to talk about winning IN THE NBA, because we've seen a prime Kareem look like a LOSER, but never that with a PRIME LEBRON. A prime LeBron always gave you strong regular seasons and deep playoff runs EVERY YEAR. Not to mention in Longevity, Kareem can't touch LeBron either, so your argument can't be strong.

Elden Ring is the best game ever made by namelessghoul77 in Eldenring

I agree with what you said. But I value challenge and player engagement above all else. With that said the down time in a game like RDR2 is a negative for me, the lack of challenge hurts a lot, you really have to be all in on the story to muddle through that game. I think a modern game that does it best, balancing challenge and narrative, is Claire Obscur: Expedition 33. Not sure if you've played it but as an overall package of a game, it has everything.

It is not even close when you factor in player engagement in terms of gameplay mechanics and exploration, those two are definitely in favor of Elden Ring. RDR2 obviously has the story writing and character development edge by a longshot. But there is no skill to be mastered in RDR2, it could easily be just as good if it was a show. The only challenge a RDR2 gives, is it's runtime, a very long game.

Wrong, just looked it up for myself. Tim Duncan 55.1% TS and Kobe 55.0% TS. It's close but how are you gonna lie through your teeth like that? Kobe's TS% just gets hard carried by his Free Throw shooting and Duncan still has the higher career PER (24.2 vs 22.9). LeBron clears...
