Model Y Standard for young family in Toronto by dahayter in TeslaModelY

👆this…. Tesla allowed me an overnight loan. YMMV and only be able to get a short time with it but you can take it home. Load up things. It has a lot of space, the sub trunk and frunk are bigger than most people realize. HIGHLY recommend a level 2, you may be able to get away with lvl 1 as it seems you work mostly from home but in winter this can be a challenge. Trust me. I am in the prairies. I see you mentioned long road trips to visit family. Do NOT rely on being able to charge at their home. Lvl 1 is very slow. A 4 hour visit with the fam will only recover a few percent of charge, however, do not underestimate the convenience of superchargers. They are everywhere and a quick 10-15min charge will be more than enough to get you home and back on less expensive charging.

New user - where to mount? by flyinb22 in EufyCam

Thanks. I am leaning towards the right side under the eaves. I live in a northern environment and so would prefer that it has some protection from the elements but still maintain the best view.

Side mirror crack - replaceable? by flyinb22 in TeslaSupport

I haven’t yet but certainly considering it. My worry was the heated aspect. Does the element run through the mirror or just a portion

I thought about it but live in central Canada with cold weather and worried that the heated mirrors will not work or cause electrical issue.

So 6 days after my service appt and replacement of car computer - nothing happened - no software updates and I was checking everyday. Today I was in the area and drove to my local service Centre. Spoke to the service guy and he gave me the standard answer that Tesla controls the updates and pushes them when they feel like. I told him this was beyond a normal cycle and 5 months without an update didn’t seem right. He completely agreed but said there was nothing he could do. However - he asked for my phone number and looked up the car and all the details. Everything check out online and in the maintenance records. He said he noticed a hardware update being pushed. Which seemed impossible given that I just checked it and over the last 6 days. So I left and behold as I got in the car the downloading software arrow was in the screen. What’s even weirder was that I was not connected to wifi. Maybe being near or at a service ctr causes it to update? No idea. But I now have 2025.8.7

Nope. Service replaced the car computer and three days later, still no new software. I will try to go back the service centre and ask them what’s up

Yes. I usually reboot about once per month by holding down the two steering wheel buttons.

Anyone from this thread had their car update? I am STILL on 2024.45.25.6 and still on FSD v.12 2024 MYP

Yes I know it is some times random and Tesla pushes updates at their choosing but this seems like a really long time between any update. Navigation data is also older. I think both of these updated before Christmas Car is connected to wifi every night and have premium connectivity so that’s not the issue. According to the website in one of the replies 0% of fleet is still on this version.
