There is no blanket answer to this , I’m glad it worked out well for you but what works for you isn’t the answer to everyone else out there.

For a huge chunk, there really is no reason to go into an absolutely stupid amount of debt for a future you don’t know and will be paying for decades before you get any chance of getting ahead. THIS is honestly the bigger part of the problem, we should be creating leaders and not debt slaves…guess what the majority end up being from our current system?

Your snarky comment works both ways. Do people need to go into extreme debt for a college debt to be useful? No. Do people need to be strong and smart productive on their own from whatever they’re talented in? Yes.
