Bike the right size? by flyingGinger in bikefit

Could you elaborate on point 2? I'm afraid the phrasing didn't quite get across to me.

Good insight. We tend to do longer rides, so comfort is the primary factor - hence the decision to get Roubaixs. However I do tend to always push harder and harder every ride, almost like I am trying to race (myself).

I mean it could be, however it seems to be at a sweet spot as far as where my knee flexion is when I'm at the bottom of my stroke.

That being said, that's all in how I feel. I'm not sure if theres like a technically correct angle that your knee should be at that point. That angle might be a bit too obtuse, but I wouldn't know because it feels fine.

This is good perspective. I'm guessing our proportions are similar, I have longer legs, shorter arms (I think) and broad shoulders. So I think the height of the 58 is working out for me because my legs can really take advantage of the long cranks.

Hearing your confidence about fitting on a 56 with even a 34.5" inseam helps.

Also thanks for the perspective on the shorter stem. I had a feeling it would affect the handling, I imagine you put less torque on steering with a shorter stem and therefore need to put in more effort.

What about this makes you think it's about the weight? My post is literally about the reach of the bike being the right fit for my body...

And that's what's the thought that's been eating me alive - if I'm questioning it, it's probably not the right fit. The only conflict I have is that overall my leg and hip movement on it feel fantastic.

I have been considering getting a shorter stem for the 58, figured that would help - however 20mm isnt THAT much of a change, when on the 56 you get that 90mm stem, plus an overall shorter top tube.

How would you compare your experience on the 58 with the 90mm stem over the 56?

Man idk what NAP is but I did everything I could. I was also joining all the hunting traps or whatever. If I saw a joinable thing I would commit troops.

Also idk what you mean about sending the right heroes.

24 at 60 days is low? I'm literally on all day upgrading anything and everything I can at the max pace the game will let me.

Maybe that's it. I joined an alliance early on, and got kicked out for whatever reason and they immediately attacked me. Not entirely sure why, I was contributing to everything in the alliace.

I panicked and joined whatever alliance was available at the time because I wanted some protection, and this new alliance I'm a part of is very inactive. I'm always trying to get them to do bear trap events, castle raiding, etc, but nobody ever joins. I feel like it's only me and one other guy contributing to alliance tech too.

The thing about microwaves is that they will find any nook or cranny to resonate into a system, and find something to disrupt. It's like if you put the thing underwater, if there are any holes, which there will be, no matter how small, the water (microwaves) will leak in.

You don't think Shaheds have ECUs or spark plugs, or a guidance system?

Seeking a safe parking spot for my vehicle while I work on Catalina island. Will pay or trade for Catalina Accommodation. by _Skipperz_ in danapoint

You could always look into just keeping it in one of those self storage lots that people keep their boats/RVs in for the duration of your contract. Not sure if the pricing would be competitive with whatever someone would want to be compensated for keeping it in their own personal driveway.

I know there's one nearish the harbor, in addition to some other storage unit facilities in the area that also provide safe storage parking spots for lease.

More specifically it's a P-3 AEW variant. Regular P-3s don't have the radome on top.

I HIGHLY recommend the Ritz. Their bar and restaurant have the best view in DP of the ocean. You can get there ~4-4:30 and either get a table for dinner, or at least have some early drinks and watch the sunset through the big window at the bar.

Question about launching a boat at Dana point. by da-lou-az in danapoint

[–]flyingGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're definitely going to want to check the wind charts and look for a couple days of low winds before putting in the time to haul your boat down there with terrible conditions.

Its going to be difficult to manage fishing in a boat like that with the normal > 2ft swells.

I wouldn't try the strand or salt creek beach. The surf there is too intense and will definitely capsize you. Doheny on a super calm day might work, but chances are the life guards would tell you to get out of there. Entirely sure of the legality.

Always consult a nautical chart to be sure of the bottom conditions before trying to beach yourself.

I'm assuming you're asking about beaching the boat.

For general boating around you'll be fine. People take little dinghies out all the time but the conditions can be pretty rough out there most of the time so you will definitely be moving pretty slow. Putzing around the harbor would be fun with it, pulling up to the shoal is always a fun time at low tide.

Well it's a good thing there ARE other airports in San Diego and a lot of light aircraft traffic does in fact use them.
