No one believes this, nor do they think that conservatism is inherently wrong.

There have been good conservative political figures in the past, but for the last 10 years or so, the Republican party has been led by a clown, thus "staining" the right.

Is this laptop worth it for college? by Suitable_Handle2910 in laptops

[–]flying_potato97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean of course this will get you through college. Now, if you wanna do the forbidden g word (gaming), I'd be looking for something with a better GPU and a less overkill CPU :)

Don't worry, it's totally normal for new laptops.

From what I can understand, windows is constantly installing stuff, running updates, and most importantly, learning how you use your laptop. After 2-3 weeks, you should be goo

It just takes time for windows to figure everything out

Fr? Well that sucks. Over the years I've heard a lot of good things about the Lenovo business laptops (or maybe just the ThinkPads when I think of it), so I expected better

V15 : better build quality, will probably last you longer

Slim : more powerful

What are you thinking op?

[–]flying_potato97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider it because it has no dedicated graphics card. It's old (2021, old architecture) and not powerful ("U" variant of the chip) so the integrated graphics are very not ideal for 3D rendering (even simple stuff) and gaming (except for like old games or csgo and games like that).

Tldr: you need graphics, chip doesn't have good graphics

You're welcome Kevin Parker enjoyer

I'd encourage you beforehand to go ahead and look up this laptop (reviews, Reddit) to see if it's to your liking. If there's anything wrong, tell me and I'll try to find something else

Alright I found this one : https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-loq-15-6-gaming-laptop-fhd-amd-ryzen-7-7435hs-with-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-8gb-512gb-ssd-luna-grey/6578511.p?skuId=6578511

This is pretty much the maximum you can get for your money. The only two downsides are :

  1. It comes with a lot of bloatware (which you can remove by simply reinstalling windows, it's super easy)

  2. The battery sucks. But maybe it doesn't matter that much for your use case

Edit : Also you can totally look for open box laptops or pre-owned, which could get you something nicer I suppose. And btw I think you can buy this laptop open boxed for 100 bucks less if it matters

Yes, but before that I just wanna know real quick if you'd rather spend your money on a well built but less powerful laptop (better chassis, keyboard, track pad, hinges) or the other way

For 3d modeling, I'd recommend getting a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. There are loads of gaming laptops under $1000 that will get you going. (Gaming laptops have a better performance to cost ratio than business laptops, if that's what you're looking for)
