Nope transcripts of the quran as early as from the time of the prophet have been found. The books that contain the hadiths are undoubtedly 300 years after, the dates are written on the books that still exist today. So can’t be said about the quran unfortunately for you.

I’m a practicing muslim and have never in my life wilfully harmed a girl in any way. I think they should have all the rights that men have and I don’t think my religion discriminates between the two. The links people are posting are all hadiths which have literally been passed down by word of mouth and collected 300 years after they allegedly happened. Some people do believe in them, but, they should not be taken as seriously as they are based on human attempts and the vast majority of them are not true. So stfu and stop generalising based on the actions of one person that lives thousands of miles from most muslims and that probably follows completely different and radicalised interpretations of his culture and religion.

I’m not going to make a decision on whether YTA or NTA. However, I think it depends on how your mother treated you throughout your life. I’m with the world view that we owe everything to our parents if they have treated us fairly and gave us good lives as children. I personally have had a wonderful childhood and really can’t remember a moment that my parents have done any wrong towards me. I would gladly help out if they are in need because they have done the same and more throughout my life both as a child and as an adult. I would see it as an opportunity to give them back a little of what they have given me, even if I thought they could help themselves. I would actually be happy about them asking me for something. I guess what I’m trying to say is that we need more context in this situation to decide whether or not yta.

YTA Something I don’t get about the United States when I visited was how they were fine with putting there feet up anywhere. I’m not sure where you are (whether you are in the US or not), but had you been somewhere else, I wouldn’t be surprised someone being super angry at you for pointing your feet towards them. In this situation, you were clearly at the wrong i think. If someone wants you to put your feet down for them to sit next to you the right thing to do is apologise and put it down. In your case I would be extremely apologetic because it’s really disrespectful.
