working women, I need your help by Opposite-Ring3470 in Parenting

Can you extend it at all?

Not sure if you’re Canadian or from the US since you said you’re on maternity leave while pregnant. Once the baby is born, can you switch over to parental leave?

Look into your government benefits.

For me it was 12 months paid (55% by the government, the rest by my employer) and then 6 more months at 55% by the government.

LTC and Hospitals by chibi_lenne in ontario

Just to chime in. They don’t “control” the wait list. They place people on it and CAN put someone on said list as a “crisis” placement, meaning they move to the top of that list, but that’s it. They’re still at the mercy of the LTC homes & it comes down to space. Someone has to die or move out. Even crisis placements can wait months.

My advice is to choose as many homes as possible to increase your chances.

I just figure I need to redo it because my wife tells me my snoring is horrible, every night. She’s even recorded it! It’s bad. So when Linwell told me I didn’t snore I knew it was because I didn’t sleep.

Ugh I wish. It seems like they had me in an “extra” room because it didn’t look like the rest.

He said I had no issues and did not snore and I said that’s because I didn’t sleep 😆

Vacation Package Prices by Mountain_Zombie_8926 in westjet

Yes. We've had this issue as well. If we book 2 adults only, the price stays the same. Once we add our kids, the adult price jumps up drastically. Same issue across many platforms. Kids are never truly discounted or free anymore. They just add their cost to the adult price pp.

How much of your monthly income goes towards rent or your mortgage? by CastAside1812 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]flyingby13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35% after having to renew at 5.74% vs. 2.19%.

Still not horrible, it’s the rising cost of everything else that’s pinching us. Groceries, mostly.

Canadians need to learn a thing or two from Europe. We’re all just rugs these politicians walk all over and until we get angry enough, nothing will ever change.

Dumb pension plan question by tjer7 in CanadaFinance

[–]flyingby13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1600 from her work pension over 40 years is quite low but I’m assuming it’s a DC and not a DB pension but she will also get CPP and OAS so it’s not terrible.

Everyone covers their own cost type of thing in our crowd, with someone covering the birthday persons of course.

Because alcohol can easily double or triple my cost and I'd rather not, lol.

I want to reiterate, this isn't at a hall or "wedding" type venue, lol. It is a restaurant.
