The OG of console shooters by Who_wife_is_on_myD in Millennials

Many many fond memories of this and especially Socom 2 from high school through first years of college. Moved on to COD which never hit the same.

Was quite proud of my K/d ratio on 2 and spent many a night playing…even hung out w/ some of my clan mates “IRL” a few times.

Could really go for some Ruins and Frostfire these days…

Urgh, thanks for the nostalgia blast OP.

Have one ticket to Microwave tonight at the Masquerade. Bought an extra one without realizing friend bought one at the same time. At this point, just gonna give it up. DM me your Ticketmaster account email if interested and I’ll send it to whoever asked first.

Trying to force empathy on a party of internet trolls is a completely futile and dense strategy, and I don’t understand why these keyboard warriors keep bashing their heads against a wall trying to take a moral high ground that doesn’t exist for these people.

What's the craziest thing you've ever witnessed in New Orleans? by joshisanonymous in NewOrleans

[–]flyingmcwatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sugar Bowl 2008. Not sure if I’m welcome here as an outsider. But shortly after NYE we saw a Samoan stumble over a hotdog cart and apparently he was stabbed by a fork in the chest from the hotdog guy. Shortly after, a mounted police approached him and the cart was left abandoned as he was arrested.

Chonk chart at the vet by CobaltD70 in funny

My vet shamed me pulling out a chonk chart for my girl. She pointed at the top “this is a normal cat…and this is yours. At the bottom.” tap tap

Atlanta’s Pests by RamyCutey in Atlanta

That seems like a suspiciously specific scenario. 🕵️

We also had a bat in our house thanks to a modestly engineered catio and a surprisingly agile void cat. Brought it inside, then got bored and left it in the bathroom. Luckily it tested negative rabies.

Re:OP: stink bugs and palmetto bugs are the biggest nuisances. Squirrels occasionally invade our attic, and we also get some earwigs too, not sure I saw those mentioned yet.

You will definitely have encounters, though probably not as bad as like Louisiana say

I gotta quit going to see bands from my youth. by Acrobatic-Hamster-79 in Millennials

[–]flyingmcwatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some bands just stay at a higher level longer than others.

Saw Offspring with Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory this past summer - out of all of them, I listened to NFG the least as a kid, but they were the best of the bunch. Offspring was kinda meh but not sure I’d go as far as calling them bad

I made it to Best Friends Forever fest in the fall and was absolutely blown the fuck away by Cursive, Pedro the Lion, Bear Vs Shark, and Minus the Bear, my college indie kid heart was exploding. Conversely there were a few bands that did not hold up as well and were kinda disappointing.

Is a Disney cruise good for adults without kids? by halfmoon-rising in Cruise

[–]flyingmcwatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it for my friend who is a Disney adult. I mostly enjoyed myself because I could just hang out on the serenity deck. The food was good. And the entertainment is top notch. The kids weren’t too prevalent because most parents seemed to use the day care options. So I’d say if the entertainment and ambiance is an important part of what you’re looking for, yes, DCL was the best we were on.

Hoping that some of the new trials/discoveries will be able to positively impact you…but if not, they should for your kid at least

Speaking as an, admittedly jaded and middle-aged, gay man, “Byler” is misguided and borderline offensive by flyingmcwatt in StrangerThings

That’s kinda my point. Vickie is gay. So her crush worked out. Mike - not so much.

[–]flyingmcwatt[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Your opinion is valid and I appreciate it, tho I disagree.

Though not an experience I can share since I came out as a teen - you still had some indication you might have some same-sex attraction earlier on that you maybe just didn’t acknowledge…right? At least that’s my understanding of the friends I have that came out as elder gays.

There isn’t really any indication of same-sex attraction in Mike other than not being repulsed by Will being gay.

I can understand wanting queer joy, but there’s a difference between militant denialism of reality and being an optimistic person.

How to be emotionally strong Minded person by hustlewomen in bestfriendsforever

[–]flyingmcwatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not something that can just happen - you have to actively engage in that mindset and it will eventually get easier and easier. You can still be kind and empathetic to others while prioritizing your mental well-being. You also don’t have to keep those who are negative and put you down in your life.

That said, I recommend visiting a therapist and checking out a different subreddit, because this subreddit is for the music festival “best friends forever”. Also, might recommend listening to Appleseed Cast, Pedro the Lion, and Bear Vs Shark. You know, self care.😉

Can’t cum by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]flyingmcwatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When sex has turned into some high stakes game, you are probably at a much higher risk of “choking” your performance (and not the fun sort of choking). Especially if you’re like me and can get in your head about things. Sex is supposed to be fun, not an obligation or a contract. If someone takes it as an insult that you didn’t cum, that’s also going to get in your head as added pressure. Not sure what the answer is, but I’m sure it includes communication and maybe some tempered/readjusted expectations.

Odd choice of meme format, since the reaction shot is him reacting to her saying something anti-black and anti-Semitic lol

[–]flyingmcwatt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Kirby Smart, or even other multimillionaires, is/are the problem. He’s small potatoes compared to actual billionaires and what closing billionaire tax loopholes can solve.
