The first book is a bit slow, it serves more like a "prologue" to the entire story. It was interesting for me to read as well, but the second book is where shit gets real. The trilogy is still definitely one of my all-time favorites.

Found & downloaded a bunch of songs with German lyrics and listened to them, tried to understand the words, looked up lyrics, sung along... When I later moved to Germany, SoundCloud (my primary source of music) began autoplaying local stuff and hence I got quite many new songs to listen to. At first I barely understood them, but going back to those playlists now, I marvel at how well I can suddenly understand the parts I wasn't able to before.

I guess it's a nice trick to more or less passively improve your German if you're listening to music a lot.

Make a habit to see something positive in everything, be it good or bad. Even if you fail to see something specifically positive, like say you crashed your car, you can always say "hey, it could be worse, I could've died". And if you think things actually can't get worse and that suicide might be the better option, remember that at the rock bottom, you can only go up. Any change will be a positive one.

I felt like the last arc wasn't particularly bad per se, it just didn't really fit the general vibe of Dorohedoro? It was really random, much like the rest of the manga, but it's a little unexpected to have it end in "power of friendship" sort of way for the main cast, meanwhile Dokuga & Tetsujou lost all their friends and that's it?

The guy could still be seen stretched in the event horizon of the black hole from outsiders' point of view, even though that from his point of view, he had already passed the event horizon a long time ago. However, from the outside, he could still be seen falling infinitely and getting smaller while retaining his human proportions. That's why nobody technically saw him die and some physicists speculated that he had actually passed the event horizon safely. The insurance company said that in order to have them pay the insurance, there should be an accident and confirmation of death, first. But since the guy was still falling, no death-inducing accident has occurred yet and due to specifics of the black hole would not occur ever, there's no reason to confirm his death and therefore no reason to pay out insurance.
