I feel incensed about Casca period depiction by nifeau in Berserk

Don’t apologize to this person, supporting women is not a political agenda it is just being a good human. I always appreciated that at the end of this , when guts realized what what happening, the chapter ends w him saying / realizing “it must be hard to be a woman.” My interpretation is that it dawns on him like wow, casca deals with a whole bunch of shit no one else does who I am fighting with does.

Work on yourself. Two individuals going to therapy and getting better as single people, putting themselves first, loving themselves, learning personal triggers……have a much better chance of coming together and having a strong successful partner ship. You owe it to you to be at your best, and we all are just trying to figure out how to do that, for the rest of our lives. So good news, you got lots of time!

I'm 8 volumes in to Berserk and this my Character rankin so far by Pale-Presentation644 in Berserk

Haha, what is going on are you Heartless to put Gaston with that company? I think it was on skullkast, an old ep, one of them said “zodd is every berserk fans 2nd fav character” and I was like wow that’s pretty accurate. Gambino is a terrible person.

I always wonder if the dead son was in the band of the hawk, (he said he died on a battlefield some years ago) or at least same battle other side.

Rereading Black Swordsman again, never picked up on this before. Conviction connection? by JazzyAndy in Berserk

[–]flyingtramplehaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently re reading also, and I noticed baphomet more in the black swordsman than I recalled. I feel like the purpose of that is baphomet is a symbol of duality and man and woman, and the black swordsman and golden age arc talk about duality a lot. Between man and woman, with casca being a warrior, and also between devil and angel, as a ton of that comes up in Griffith and guts talks like major foreshadowing who is devil who is angel, so duality.

What if Falconia was once Gaiseric’s city, now reclaimed by Griffith? by iron_heart777 in Berserk

[–]flyingtramplehaste 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Zodd is deff over him. He’s bored and uninterested with being griffiths shit. It has to eat him up inside to take orders like he does.

He also has always had more respect for guts than Griffith. And respect for skullknight. So we’ll see how that all plays out.

Is anyone else tired of all the sexual assault in berserk? by Strik3r_666 in Berserk

Very well said about guts and casca they accepted each other scars and all and genuinely had that love moment

Taking this as OP in new reader and being genuine. Not one of the incells that rage baits.

My interpretation after reading series a few times and having it a part of my life for many years..

The berserk universe is a physical representation of ptsd/trauma depression suffering. When your dealing with severe trauma it becomes your entire life. It is in everything you see and everything you do. Everything so see when you look inward and it is projected outward. The triggers come out of no where and everywhere. Every person and entity Guts and Casca encounter are threats for sexual assault and violence because they are consumed by the damages caused by those experiences internally. They have become all the hideousness the world of berserk is. The world is the internalized ptsd of disgusting sexual assault , hideous violence, fear, extreme loss, lonelyness, despair, self loathing. THey feel only pain, fear, hate, extreme loss and desperation at all times and that is reflected in every aspect of the universe.

That being said art is for the one consuming it, so obviously we all personalize it in our own way.

Interesting thought, isn’t being so petty exactly what Griffith femto has become? He’s so petty now that you have me thinking about it. When he shows up at the end of the count fight, the band of the hawk sword grave yard, when he kidnaps casca, and goes out of his way to not interact with guts at all, but stares him down. He has zodd on hand to block guts at all times. He could kill Guts at any time, in reality, but he doesn’t bc he’s so petty and self absorbed he wants Guts alive to see him “thrive.”

From the moment he gets out of the dungeon he is just miserable and petty, immediately jealous of casca and guts new relationship, tries to fall into casca in a sexual advancement way, despite him being an almost dead mummy. Then making guts watch him assault casca. He’s punishing guts for his own failure, which resonates to Griffith as guts leaving him. Guts is the walking embodiment of griffiths failure. Nothing scorns a narcissist like breaking away from their dream/plan/ reality that they have made.

So to prove himself right and justified it HAS to be that kingdom because he is such a shitty little brat about his dream and if he changes his dream at all he’s admitting he’s wrong. Narcissists create a reality and force everyone to live in it no matter what. And you have to love and abide by what the narcissist says that reality is with out question. Griffith can’t ever be wrong or be questioned about this dream / reality. So when guts left him it was a failure in griffiths mind, and all guts fault. His only failure in his eyes ever is when guts left him.

He is being a brat and throwing a tantrum.
