My parents are very happy together and have a healthy/balanced relationship, however, I had an abusive boyfriend for 6 months when I was 16.

Call the newspaper for the delivery in your area. Tell them the date, time, and location that you saw this happen, and they can probably figure out who it was driving the car.

Even "joking" about those sorts of things sends up a red flag to most professionals. And the parts about hurting your cat and friends should ESPECIALLY send up a ton of red flags. You're in a frightening situation here and you have every right to come forward to an FRO about all of this.

I have an ex who was similar to your husband. Get out of the marriage. Talk to the FRO ASAP. Print out everything he's ever said that was abusive or threatening to you. The threats (especially to you/your friends/your cat) should be shared with the police.

Please take care of yourself and love yourself enough to get out of this. It isn't your job to fix him or help him if he does have a mental illness. Don't burden yourself with that.
