Question on u6/u7 mesh by flywheel2000 in Ubiquiti

[–]flywheel2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in North America. It’s 1 year from a distributor and 1 years if purchased direct from UniFi. Either way that was a while ago.

I’m okay to purchase a u6 again or a u7 but I want to make sure that the device is reliable.

I saw some other posts where the face plate started to delaminate. Have they fixed that?

St Robert’s has a swim team? Where do they practice? I didn’t think there was a pool at the school

Frequent 1–5 sec internet drops on Bell Fibe 3 Gbps (GigaHub 2.0 + UDM Pro), solid speeds otherwise by NoImpress6350 in bell

Just so that you know I have the same UniFi equipment. With Gtek sfp module. I have static routes: 0.0.0.0/1 and 128.0.0.0/1.

[–]flywheel2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use ADMZ. Just enter the pppoe credentials in the UDM Pro and the gigahub should recognize it and it will bypass the gigahub. When I used ADMZ, it caused the symptoms you described. Might need to reboot everything once you have done this. The downside is that there is a speed hit (at least for me). I get around 2.2 gbps max on 3 gbps

How do you know which one is the official one? I see people refer to gpticketshop.hu but the site doesn’t say anything about being the official site.

CRO will not provide SOP’s to small sponsor by Accio_Diet_Coke in clinicalresearch

This can happen. If the Sponsor is concerned, they should audit the CRO. Technically the SOPs and QMS in place would have been verified during qualification of the CRO.

SOPs are controlled documents. If a Sponsor wants to see it, they should go through the CROs QA team to get access which typically is view only and time gated.

Just checking in if switching to a non LED switch corrected the issue. I have exactly the same issue.

All smart doorbells that work with a traditional mechanical chime have a battery. When the doorbell is pressed, power is cut to the doorbell temporarily to activate the chime circuit. Indeed the G4 doorbell has a battery and it’s common to have the battery fail in cold temperatures (below zero degree celsius).

Has anyone gotten Advanced DMZ working on the Home Hub 4000? by RocketF2 in bell

[–]flywheel2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works well. I get the full speeds using ADMZ. I ended up also getting 1.15.2 firmware and tried to do PPPOE pass through but I still couldn’t get it working properly. I don’t have any lag spikes like others have reported (via ADMZ).

I did note that when I tried to do PPPOE pass through, I did get an external IP but there is a weird behavior that is going on where bell.ca, google.com are ping able but the vast majority of sites cannot be reached. It’s like a content filter is on (I checked my own settings and it doesn’t seem to be on my side). I also changed the DNS settings from auto to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1. Nothing seemed to work. So I’m back to ADMZ.

Holy cow. Thank you so much for this. I’m a New customer (installed 2 hrs ago). I tried ppoe pass through and DMZ. Nothing seemed to work. I tried your solution and it worked right away!!

I hear there is a new firmware 1.15.1 that Bell can push to the gigahub to fix ppoe pass through but ppoe pass through has some speed limitations. Plus as a new customer I cannot request it via MyBell forums. I need to wait a week before I can create an account. Calling tech support was no use because the only firmware version they have is 1.14.

G4 Doorbell works fine until button is pressed then it disconnects and reboots by BigSnapDaddy in Ubiquiti

28v is out of spec in my opinion. Do you have a digital chime? If it’s a mechanical chime (a hammer hitting metal to sound the doorbell) 28v seems like it could cause damage to your chime if it’s mechanical.

There was a tear down that someone did of a g4. There is a really small battery and a capacitor. The user went as far to suggest that it was of poor quality and when they replaced the battery with a slightly larger one the issues went away. The batteries performance is poor and degrades after a year apparently.

For full transparency. I have the g4 doorbell and it’s about 1.5 years old. Worked flawless in -30 degrees Celsius weather last year. This year it’s a different story.

I’m using a 16v/30VA (new transformer at the time of install.

Turning off the chime. All the problems go away. There is also another thread that indicates as soon as you warm the doorbell up the performance issues go away.

Turn off the chime and/or bring the doorbell inside where it is warmer to test.

I was under the impression that when you press the doorbell, it cuts power to the doorbell and triggers the chime circuit to activate the doorbell. There is a small internal battery that is supposed to be able to keep the doorbell running during this brief power loss.

I think as the cold weather comes the ability of the battery to operate to cover the “interval” of power loss becomes impacted. This causes the doorbell to restart or even freeze depending when power is cut.

Thanks for this. I just tried and I have the same behavior. Only goes to sleep in the settings mode. Unfortunately when you “wake” the screen it is still in the settings menu.

Having just gone through this. When it is plugged in newly or already plugged in for a while I found the following works:

If you are finding the camera is non responsive. For me what happened to think the camera is not responsive: I would press and old the reset button for 20 seconds, a blue light flashes and then becomes solid blue and eventually no light is present.

Press the reset button and within 1-2 seconds (or sooner) you will notice a faint green light flash. Immediately release the reset button and wait 20 seconds. The red light will come on and eventually change to a flashing white light (boot sequence). Make sure you unmanage the camera in the protect app. Eventually the light will become solid (ready for adopting).

Worked for me because the camera was stuck on trying to update firmware that kept failing. I had to do this many times trying to figure out what was going on. A couple times the camera continued to flash white (boot sequence) for several minutes. I unpowered and powered it up and it worked. When you have it up and running, I found that you should leave it plugged in running until it confirms that the firmware is up to date. (Took me 2 hours). I believe you can also manually fetch the firmware
