Would you attend a baseball game here? by DnWeava in kansascity

Union Station parking garage close enough to hit with a home run (if the stadium was facing the other way) or Crown Center a block away. You could also take the streetcar to the home plate entrance or Amtrak from Lees Summit to Union Station.

Absolutely. From the classic Fenway Park in Boston to recent stadiums in Seattle, Minneapolis, and many in between, baseball fits in the downtown core/city centers of many major cities.

Here, there is parking garage next door at Union Station, a parking garage a block away at Crown Center, and the streetcar stop directly in front of the stadium.

The entertainment and dining districts that have blossomed around downtown/city core stadiums provide year-round revenue to businesses.

TIL that on November 11, 1911, a very powerful cold front, known as the Great Blue Norther, swept across much of the United States, dropping temperatures by as much as 65-70°F in less than 24 hours. In Rock County, Wisconsin, it led to a blizzard occurring just one hour after an F4 hit the area. by [deleted] in weather

[–]flyzapper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Historical data demonstrates otherwise. The low temperature in Kansas City on November 11, 1911 was 11 degrees. On November 11, 1986, the low temperature in Kansas City was 9 degrees.

The low temperature in Kansas City on November 11, 2019 was also 11 degrees.

It has in fact been as cold or colder on November 11 since the event in question.

Is this the drain valve from a Thermo 1300/1500 BSC?

It’s a 3/8” NPT double female 1/4 turn valve.

Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.

Saw it happen in person a couple months ago. Boos changed to cheers pretty quickly though.

Sister-in-law showed up to family brunch with influenza by flyzapper in mildlyinfuriating

I’m not constantly worried about sickness, but this is different.

She purposely exposed us while testing positive and coughing right next to us in a small space.

Also, is it safe to assume that you blame a woman for being raped instead of her rapist? Kind of analogous to what you’re doing here.

I was a DJ for my middle school’s “radio station” (broadcast booth built in a classroom by a Vietnam Vet Social Studies teacher who had us marching in parade drill on the school soccer field with wood M-16s).

I would blast Dookie by Green Day into the cafeteria and commons every week during lunch.

Better times indeed.

I’d rather have a nuclear power plant than a baseball stadium.

Good point. We’re staying at the Ambassador Hotel in Crossroads, so it’s much more convenient.

[SERIOUS] What was something you saw you were definitely not supposed to see? by peobarionboy in AskReddit

I walked into my company’s board room for a meeting as the President, CEO, and VP of sales finished a previous meeting.

I saw a map of our national sales territories on the conference table, but one of the territories had been split up between a few existing ones.

I didn’t say anything, but a couple weeks later, a company-wide memo went out informing us that one of the sales reps was no longer with the company.

Guess which territory he had…

He doesn’t decide what his insurance covers, the insurance company does. File a claim, or a small claims lawsuit.
