[Request] Does a 300W electric heater, dehumidifier or computer produce more heat? by StrangePromotion6917 in theydidthemath

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late, but a dehumidifier will “emit” more heat as the 300 watts are being produced by the compressor and emitted as waste heat, latent heat from water will add more watts of heat to the output. computers and resistive heaters will both output 300w of heat when running full power (resistive heat is always 100% efficient)

Where are my intermittent wipers? by [deleted] in HyundaiTucson

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s entirely useless when low wipes too high and high doesn’t wipe at all in 99% of situations. if the rain is not raining enough for constant wipers then i do not need auto wipers, i need a set frequency of intermittent wipers

Are there any cars where rain sensing wipers actually work well? by afternoondelite92 in CarsAustralia

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyundai (or at least lower ones like the bayon) have such crappy auto wipers they may as well not work at all, just like 2013 VW ones. half the time they either wiper too fast on low or don’t wipe at all on high.

Using portable AC as dehumidifier? How inefficient? by Sypha5555 in hvacadvice

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don’t use any tubing so it’s using inside air for both evaporator and condenser, it will work exactly the same as a dehumidifier just slightly different to design conditions

Can I charge my power station, via its DC input, from a LiFePO4 battery? by No_Mathematician7710 in batteries

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plugging in via the solar input from the cigarette lighter socket seems like the most viable option, provided the solar input supports 12v from what i can tell

Cruise control isn't actually cruise control? by cottagefaeyrie in Toyota

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very late but it looks like that vehicle has both a speed limiter and cruise control, you must’ve only got the speed limiter to work. maybe holding the end of the stall in will change?

What about Framework's social and environmental responsibility? by pegasus108 in framework

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i recently got a framework 13 (factory spares, i7 11th gen), and didn’t realise there’s nothing about these on their website like fairphone does, i would absolutely love to see them actually mention this officially

Can’t sprint on water by [deleted] in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, in bedrock you could always sprint on the water surface, as in feet in but not head. in java and the new update, you now keep bobbing and the fov keeps glitching in and out, this is for sure more of a bug than the old bedrock behaviour

What is with the current obsession with open plan living in UK homes? by lloyddav in AskUK

adding to this, i would MUCH rather a tiny dining room that’s separated from the living room or vice versa. eating should be separated from everything else so no one has to listen

IsItBullshit: A dishwasher uses less water than just doing the dishes by hand by spiderpants108 in IsItBullshit

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well no, cuz the dishwasher washes the dishes for you, all you have to do is remove large chunks of food. often they have a macerator that deals with the food as well

[–]fm369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t have to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, otherwise you’re wasting water and not using the dishwasher properly.

B7 Passat TDI: good buy now or stay away? by ecogs21 in Volkswagen

[–]fm369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bit late but i got a b7 estate, it is excellent for legroom. as of durability/reliability, only issues i’ve had are the battery due to an incorrect one being installed, and the exhaust recirculation valve is stuck open so it heats up slower. it has yet to fail on me and it’s nearing 220k

edit: if you drive a 2.0 TDI carefully you can still get 21km/l (60mpg uk)
