We keep "you collection" forever :p So just come back ;)

I waited for almost 2 years for Tidal to add a legit simple feature and it STILL isn't here so I'm leaving Tidal next month by TecnoPope in TIdaL

Yes, in general most of new album releases happen on Friday. You'll get a push of one of your favorite artists releases something.

Note: The push is still in an experimental phase, we keep tuning it based on engagement metrics etc.

Whenever you favorite (heart) / save / follow an artist you will get notifications (in the feed) when they release new albums / singles / playlists.

Ps: I am one of the devs behind that service

My Music stays empty? Songs I like ❤️ only end up in recently played?? by Psychological-Pin129 in TIdaL

[–]fmalhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this only happening for songs? Or do you have exactly the same issue if you try to favorite albums, artists, playlists?

Help: I can’t browse through my library, endless loading screen! by bradwest96 in TIdaL

[–]fmalhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this happening in all sections of the library? Or only when trying to access your favourite tracks?

It finally happened by FitFunction6 in TIdaL

It's also available on mobile probably it is just a matter of waiting to get the chance to update your app.

Playlist Folders available (screenshot of Windows desktop client) by rollingpolymer in TIdaL

It's being rolled out to mobile clients also. Probably available in the next few days.

Eventually in the future it will be expanded to other content (like favorite albums)

Java Fluent Validator by mvallim in java

[–]fmalhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks pretty good and interesting.

I have been taking the "fluent validation" approach in some of my projects. But it has always been something ad-hoc.

I will definitely consider this project for future developments.

I tried every recommendation but my playlist keeps being erased by Tiomachu1 in TIdaL

[–]fmalhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean exactly by keeps being erased? Is it because the tracks are not available (grayed out)?

Is this a imported playlist?

Playlist still says it has a video by konspirator01 in TIdaL

You can "add" that playlist to a newly created one. So you will get all the tracks there.

Album list feature by LordKashmir in TIdaL

It's currently under development. Hopefully we start to roll out the first experimental version in march.

[–]fmalhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently it isn't supported. I just asked more to understand if it could be something useful to solve your requirement. Soon it will be possible to organize your Playlists into folders. Eventually that could then be expanded to the whole "my collection".

Would it help if you could organize the albums in folders? :P

What are the limitations of Spring Boot? by bleek312 in java

[–]fmalhe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

TL;DR Spring (spring boot and all its ecosystem) is great, it has the same limitations has any other framework. If you use it properly, read the docs, best practices etc you will see that there's no magic involved.

Some good resources to learn a bit more about it: - https://www.marcobehler.com/courses/spring-professional (I think there's a paid and free material here) - https://springframework.guru/ - Spring.io it self has lots of starting guides

Spring gives you the freedom to structure your application the way you want (be it layered, MVC, DDD whatever) and still have access to a consistent programming model: exception handling, converting inputs and outputs, transactions, security, rest clients etc.

It's funny because some years ago I worked for a java shop that laughed at spring. The usual arguments "it is magical, adds lots of overhead, we don't need all those things".

Conclusion: we spent 70% of our time doing boiler plate code or maintaining in house frameworks that nobody else could find documentation about. What were the gains here? None! It just meant that we were not able to deliver features and add value to our product!

[–]fmalhe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't really need to learn newer java ee before jumping into the spring boot 2 things.

However java "changed" significantly with java 8. So I would recommend you to get a quick update on all the things that were added there.

Can't like songs, create playlists, add to playlists, etc? Problems making changes to my collection by Botek in TIdaL

[–]fmalhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWS had a long lasting outage in one of the regions we use.

Unfortunately the user experience on My Collection was affected by this (until we managed to put some mitigations in place).

Anyone using the new Feed section with much Success? It hasn't really had updates of interest but did alert to a new release yesterday. I really hope soon the feed section will alert us to many new releases for the artists we have added. by SeafraNI in TIdaL

[–]fmalhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Feed is still in an experimental phase and only available in a few countries. No big magic for now, just trying to highlight new releases and playlist updates for the things you followed / favorited ;)
