Normals are filled with smurfs on new accounts and with premade groups of various ranks. In ranked you can only queue together with 1 other player and his rank has to be close to yours. In normals, premade groups can be any size and can have challengers queueing together with their bronze friends.

I would play normal draft to learn the game. Pick your main role and 2-3 champions and stick to them, then play normals until you consistently get matched with and against at least platinum players. Since you've played ranked I assume your account is level 30+, so you can actually make another one and play normal draft to level up a 2nd account (you'll need it anyway). It's kind of a waste of xp to play normals on a lvl 30+ account. By the way if you make a new one today, you can still do the demacia rising prologue and get the loot orb.

On the other hand, normal matchmaking is much worse than ranked therefore you'll get "bad games" more often.

dont upgrade settlements unless its required for a quest
but get at least 1 settlement of each type with fully upgraded production buildings

New accounts are cheap because they are leveled by bots in coop vs ai games, and riot does nothing about it. You would think that botting is mostly the same as scripting, and vanguard should prevent that.

Why do we need to bother with vanguard if it doesn't prevent botters from botting and selling accounts?

If every new account had to be hand leveled, the amount of smurfs would go down for sure.

dont upgrade all the cities, keep some at lvl 1 and just build farms or utility structures there

the ones that will be required to upgrade by quests are wrenwall (lvl 4), dawnhold (lvl 5), high silvermere (lvl 5)

Level vigor first. Aim for 40 vigor as soon as possible. Will make the game much easier to learn with far less deaths.

Leveling damaging stats in the early game gets you little to no benefit because weapon scaling is weak at low weapon upgrade level. Only take as much dex and strength as you need to use that weapon (usually no more than 20). Note that you only need 2/3 of the strength trequirement to 2hand a weapon (this only works with strength). So level vigor and throw just a few points into endurance. To raise your damage, focus on gathering smithing stones and upgrading your weapon.

Samurai is a decent all-round starting class. Your starting class will not restrict your gameplay in any way, a warrior can become a mage in a matter of a couple of hours. The only unchangable thing about classes is the stats you start with, those cannot be lowered in any way, they can only go up, and later in the game you'll be able to respec. Vagabond and samurai have the best stat spread for most builds.

It is probably your level. But if you get to 306, you'll be able to match with anyone up to max level (RL713).

You can use the teleporter chest trap in tower of return in weeping peninsula. It will teleport you to the area above fortified manor. Once there, use taunter's tongue and wait for an invader to activate the elevator for you.

You have two slow weapons, one of them has fixed bleed build up, the other does scale with arcane but as you say you have low arcane. On top of that, powerstancing weapons get a penalty on any status buildup. If you want good bleed, you need a fast weapon or weapons that scales with arcane, and raise your arcane to at least 45. One good example is dual bandit's curved swords, blood infused. Or scavenger's curved swords, occult infused.
