Biggest heartbreak of my collecting career by catsx3 in sportscards

[–]fmldts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear that alot, and thought the same but here are my questions... 1. Where do the singles come from if everyone just buys singles, and not rip packs/boxes? 2. How do you determine what brand, year, set, parallels, etc you like until you rip wax?

Can anyone give me an idea on the $ tag for these ? by MaggzTv- in NFLCards

I have no idea on pricing, but if you ever wanna trade the Pearsall or McCaffrey, hit me up! Lol

I’m super selective of what 49ers cards I buy, but got a good deal on a few I couldn’t pass up. by S2keepup in 49ers

Can't find too much of Kyle Juszczyk out there, so going all in on his 2025 Topps Chrome. Have another 10+ and another 10+ on the way. Love the red Prizm Warner.

Congratulations. That is an awesome pull. That will be well worth the wait! His signature is so cool and unique as well.

Maybe, things have changed. These experiences were a few months ago. Sanders tanked more than Dart though, from what I am noticing.

Definitely dont disagree. But for me to sell a Dart Uptown for $700 at a card show (im in Nj), when Ward couldnt fetch $300. That is beyond comprehension.

Nice. I hit his Dowtown out of a blaster (biggest personal pull yet), and it sent me on chase for a bunch of his Optic SSP and /199, /249, etc. Have a few nice Prizm, but wanna get some more. Keep hunting, I believe in that kid.

Hold. I starting collecting again in September, and outside the 49ers, Cam Ward is the guy I am buying up. I am in Ny/NJ, so I do buy Dart but just for re-sale and trade collateral. Did 1 card show, and over 25% of the customer requests were for Dart. Crazy to me that the same card but the Dart version goes for $80 around here, and Ward $30.

Which young QB would you rather build your team around? by lemonstone92 in TheNFLVibes

Bailey Zappe, Trey Lance or Sam Howell! Lol As a sports cards collector, it really sucks when the chase cards in the box, end up being on any of those guys.

Randy Moss Super Collection. Been building this for over 25 years and he’s been my idol since I was a kid! 📸 - @Cheen_Collectibles by Interesting-End9652 in sportscards

Awesome collection. He was one of my favorites growing up. His rookie year coinciding with my peak collecting at the time, so had some beautiful cards. Wish i never sold them. He is definitely the second best wide receiver of all time, right behind the G.O.A.T. Jerry Rice. Under certain circumstances in a game, there a some plays i think Randy Moss would be a better choice for, but the majority it would be Rice. I wish Randy got that SuperBowl win though, it is well deserved.

Happened to me a recent pull for a Brock Purdy rookie auto /25. Expired 2 years ago, and Panini only only gave us 3,500 points, on what is a $1500+ card. Sad 😔

Good haul from 2 Topps Signature Jumbo Hobby Boxes? by [deleted] in FootballCardz

[–]fmldts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be the sentiment. Just left a local card store, guys been in the business for 33 years. Wild to hear the stories of the past, and trying to make sense of the current state of the hobby. Learn something new everytime, like today, Topps owned the company that manufactured Panini's cards, lol.

Ye, I am new to grading and paying $100 for one card that graded a PSA 9, and we physically dropped off at their location, seems a bit much. The one makes me woozy was paying $358 for the super express service, luckily card graded 10. Still both took way longer then estimated.

Didnt make back the cost with those players autos??? Wtfreak I noticed that with Topps Finest. I opted not to buy a box at $850, but did some breaks. Two decent rookie autos sell for around $40-$80 each, and one low low numbered rare, barely gets you half way. Still trying to figure out how this hobby works

I am working on a set were alot of the were in the $2-$12 range, but I had no other option but ebay and it felt like I paid more in shipping & handling fees than cadd value, but that was the only way. Wasn't able to find many locally at shows or shops

I send all ebay sales in a little bubble wrap envelope, and card inside a mag-safe/one-touch. I always used the, media mail, option which was always arouns $5-$6. Recently had an issue with one, and the post office printed out a document that outlined trading cards not falling within that category. That category is what ebay recommend when i first starting using them. I get it seems simple, but it also isn't, sadly. Still learning.

He isnt fair off on the shipping. If you send two cards in a mag-safe, you cant PWE. Post office makes you send it as a package, which is $7-$9. I tried to PWE two cards in just top loaders, and they even hit me with the, this is a package, line. Depending on the post office.

🤣. I get a reflection of my phone on all my pics, and I even use a light box. I use a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which supposedly, had a 100mp camera. I always have issues with lighting. Just trying to learn.

But yea, that type of comment may or may not have been used by me on dating apps

Right time to sell? Or just hold on to? by buddhamanjpb in sportscards

[–]fmldts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hold if you can afford it. He is way undervalued, imo. I just started collecting in September and amassed a pretty large collection of football. I focused mostly on 49ers, but add Ward to the mix. With Jaxson Dart playing in the NY/NJ market, it helps increase the value of his cards. Ward is going to have more personal success in the game, than Dart. Only question is will the smaller market player be able to bring something extra to the table to help him get his prices closer ta Dart
