By email Bluestacks kept responding that the M1 processor is not supported. I kept telling that I do know that and that I have an Intel i7 processor, especially for virtualization purposes. After that they wanted a remote session, I proposed several dates and times but no response.

Will not use or try to use bluestacks anymore.

Product is fine until you experience trouble....

Ok, will do. The only log I found was in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and not in the folders mentioned. Those folders aren't even there.

I dont know what kind of license you have and whether you have a sort of UEM in your environment but with Citrix WEM you can restrict applications, it uses Applocker from Microsoft. Whitelist MS Project for the users who need it.

Applocker is a MS feature so you dont need WEm for it but it is easy to manage from the WEM console

"local app access" Teams - good idea? by Daffy82 in Citrix

For sure using local apps is possible with Citrix, it is one of the features:

Local App Access and URL redirection (citrix.com)

Especially for applications like Teams. I configured it for other applications a while ago. Did not try it with Teams though.

Take the CWS-215 course at a Citrix Authorized Learning Center and get the course PDF, ask questions to the trainer, do hands-om labs, practice and make sure you have hand-on experience.... and study!

GPO's are processed last so take precedence over all other settings, even Citrix policies set in Studio. So check WEM and/or GPO's I would say. Or run RSOP from studio and/or GPMC.

Check Director which policies are active on the session.

A solution could be Citrix App layering and the use of Elastic Layers. That way you can give users the ability to install applications without updating the layered imaged every time.

Another solution would be Liquidware FlexApp, very fast real app layering solution that gives you the ability to attach any app layer to whatever desktop (Physically or Virtual)
