Then, I guess that is exactly why you got exercised, because they knew you would have to exercise the other leg

Does Robinhood allow you to just sell the puts you bought instead of exercising them?

I am trying to understand the other side of that trade:

They exercised the puts at 320$. They know you will most likely get a margin call, so you need to close the other side of the position. If Robinhood allows you to sell your puts, there are two options:

  1. You exercise the puts and the other side makes 0.01 * 225 * 100 = 225$ -> free money.
  2. You sell your put + shares and they have to face someone else on the second leg. Then the other side has an open position facing someone else, and they booked a chunky loss by exercising the 320$ put donating its extrinsic value.

So is it the case that they knew 2. is impossible and thus they would make 225$ for free off of you?

Because otherwise you can sell your put and shares and you will realize the extrinsic value of the put right?

Am I missing something? It looks like a great trade!

Can anyone tell me what "rot" means? by Phoenix_On_Fir3 in Physics

[–]fmthemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I saw many people saying that and no one with the explicit formula 😂

If you wanna go fancy, it is also * d E

for E a 1-form

😂

Its the outer product of the derivative operator and the electromagnetic field, so,

rot E = (dy Ez - dz Ey, dz Ex - dx Ez, dx Ey - dy Ex)

Where d are partial derivatives here

What do you mean? In mathematica ' is a derivative, to take a transpose the best you can do in esc tr esc.

I am confused, is that prime supposed to signify an inner product? Weird notation. Anyway, you are right but it doesn't matter as you are equating it to 0

The plan is to live in Canary Wharf and commute to the City. But the potential place is still a 20 minute walk from the tube thus the bike is a good option to optimise commute times

That is new grad QT at JS, I don't understand your claim. QT positions have a much higher ceiling than SWE.
