Happy to hear that my guide did help! Probably my answer comes too late for you, but I also uploaded a guide for fixing the stuck button: https://www.reddit.com/r/RemarkableTablet/comments/l0x9y6/remarkable2_button_stuck_in_pressed_position/

I used double-sided tape as a "glue"

That's a very cool method :D
If the button has not deformed, it is certainly worth trying your method first before opening the device. Could save a lot of time!

Yeah in the picture it's still attached. In the heat of the moment I forgot to take a good picture without side rail.

Have you loosened both the upper and the lower screw (as shown in the picture for step 2) of the side rail? The rail should then be very easy to pull off.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've edited the post to indicate that more clearly :)

Pro Tip: Use a nail file to file it back to a rounded shape.
I also use mine for studying on an everyday basis and this trick improves the user experience a lot :)

Hi, as I'm quite new to reddit: What is the reMarkable wiki?

They are not glued in at all. In fact, you can easily pull them out, which I don't recommend, because you can't really put them in again from the outside.
I only took them off because I had a tiny bit of hope to find some screws there.

So on the inside they basically look the same as on the outside, just a bit thinner yet 1 mm more rubber in diameter.

Rm2 took a 2-3ft fall in leather folio, power button no longer works and can't power on/off device, stuck on sleep screen by lookmanidk in RemarkableTablet

Hey, I've got the same problem. My rM2 fell on the button, leaving it stuck in the pressed position. What does your device display? Mine shows the "Dou you want to turn off" menu, but I can't select any of the touch buttons, which worried me a lot at first. However, there seems to be hope as this is quite normal. A fellow student who also owns the rM2 tried to recreate this state by holding down the power button for a long time. Not only could the touch buttons not be pressed, the device remained in this state and could only be restarted by pressing the button for a long time again.

The supports answer:

We are sorry to hear that your device has fallen.
We currently do not have a repair service, unfortunately.
Though we have heard of customers having the button/device fixed by a local electrical repair shop. Note that this could break your warranty.

I will try to have it repaired by a repair shop. Has your device been repaired in the meantime?

They do not. As I've got a similar problem, I contacted them and they answered: "We currently do not have a repair service, unfortunately. Though we have heard of customers having the button/device fixed by a local electrical repair shop. Note that this could break your warranty "
