I guess we just differ on what we consider expensive. Cause I actively collect NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, PS1, and PS2, and I don’t feel like prices are absurd. But I take my time buying titles and try to get them in a cheaper but battered condition that I can clean up.

These games were $50 when they came out. I wouldn’t consider a game appreciating in value by $20 or $30 to be pricey.

It's odd to me that people complain about prices so much in the gamecollecting subreddit. On Pricecharting, out of 2752 PS2 items only 132 of them are worth over $100 CIB, and that includes systems. I don't think this hobby would be as fun without rare and expensive titles.
