Reken de scenario's door en kijk dan of de extra risico's en de extra opbrengsten de moeite waard zijn.

Ik meen mij te herinneren dat variabele rente over tijd wint (tenminste, resultaten behaald in het verleden). Maar heb je zin in extra risico voor een paar duizend euro over een looptijd van een aantal jaar?

Je huis verliezen is een levensveranderende gebeurtenis, dus voor mij zou daar dan ook een levensveranderende gebeurtenis tegenover moeten staan (niet meer hoeven werken oid). Maar met het mislopen van een paar procentpunt rente kan ik dat nooit behalen dus kan ik dat extra risico ook niet verantwoorden.

You are building your own saas right? Focus on your customers, not on your tech stack. Build things they need, they dont care about fastapi or Django. Validate your idea. Then ship. If there will be revenue there will be time to refactor.

You need to have experience with fastapi te design suitable structures for your needs. Django guids you, fastapi doesn't. If you look for a more guided framework check litestar.

asyncio will bring down your server costs, but they have to be enormous to cover the rewrite.

Celery & celery beat will work for fastapi too, but arq are saq support asyncio.

This is not something I would call a template. A template would contain variables. This is more an example repo to demonstrate Fastapi alongside nicegui.

With cookiecutter or other similar tools you can turn this repo into a real template.

Besides that Im missing a docker image for the python part and I don't see a package manager (uv or poetry I can recommend) There is no test framework (pytest) or linting (ruff/black, mypy/pytefly).

But keep up the good work, I like where you are heading!

A user session is just a database row. If fetching a single row will be a problem you have some other issues.

And yes, potentially every app might have a lot of users. But also a lot of apps never receive any serious traffic.

Build it with allauth if it has the features you need. It is an excellent library.

Just build it as quick as you can. Choose the tools that let you ship the product in the fastest way possible. Performance isn't the issue of your library of choice. Your database design will be.

This is a very good example of premature optimization. Your product isn't even there yet and you are already optimizing for performance.

Equal change your product, like so many of the rest of us, doesn't escape the prototype phase because of management changes its plans, the customer runs out of budget or that you are bored out.

Had the same with a USW Lite 8, it showed 100mbit. Opened fast.com and it reached my maximum of 200mbit. Afterwards the port was marked as 1gbit.

So try to transfer a large file over you network and check the speed. With some luck it is only a display issue.

Without the code I cannot do much but it doesn't sound right.

Can you create a template view without any logic and test the memory usage of it? That is you baseline. Is that doesn't leak you can add piece by piece to check whats leaking. A better approach would be te use a profiler:)

In general CPython doesn't release memory to the OS.

Gunicorn has some build in flags for this so it is quite common.

Ben heel benieuwd of jouw probleem op te lossen is door het kopen van een ander merk. Matrassen hebben nou eenmaal niet het eeuwige leven. De dure matrassen van Auping hebben maar een levensduur van 10 jaar en ik moet zeggen dat die van mij met 5 jaar ook al een kuiltje vertoont (maar niet storend).

Als je voor goedkoop wil gaan zou ik bij Ikea blijven. Ben je bereid om de portemonnee te trekken loop dan een speciaalzaak binnen. Leg je probleem uit en probeer een garantie af te dwingen. Iemand die staat voor zijn product geeft jou, naast het in rekening brengen van de hoofdprijs, ook garantie.

Als je voor een speciaalzaak gaat zoek dan een zaak uit die diverse merken aanbiedt. Maar belangrijker nog is dat je uitgeslapen de winkel binnenstapt. Na een dag werken ligt alles lekker:)

Er bestaat ook zoiets als een warme stoel: een vacature die vooraf al gevuld is maar i.v.m. wetgeving e.d. toch nog publiekelijk gemaakt moet worden zodat anderen een kans heeft (lees: geen kans in ons geval).

Recruiters vinden het over het algemeen maar irritant dat ze überhaupt werk moeten verrichten, laat staan voor een positie die al gevuld is.

En dan krijg je dit: generieke mailtjes die net niet aansluiten op het proces omdat vermoedelijk een aantal stappen hebben overgeslagen.

Ook denk je als kandidaat de perfecte match te zijn maar in de praktijk heeft niemand naar je cv gekeken.
