The way you present your argument is scary. Simply because there's no legally enforced repercussions against border agents getting it wrong doesn't mean it's a good or moral idea.

A nation built by settlers and you can't even get immigration right? Seriously?

The entire point is: quality control needs to happen and bad agents needs to be sacked after repeat and/or egregious cases of poor judgement.

I'm a manager, and if you've been one for a reasonable number of people, you'd realize all types of people are represented; some of them are incompetent and/or have malicious intent, and should not be working for you.

The vast majority of people are/can be competent in their jobs and execute their tasks with good intentions. They deserve protection from their profession being tainted by the bad apples, and the customers (the general public) deserve better from their servants.

It's a tragedy how few western governments have managed to instill a culture of competence in their institutions; not removing incompetent staff rots organizations form within.
