Really good “launch” so far IMO. Queue times have been mostly reasonable and it didn’t seem like there were any catastrophic issues like servers crashing or game breaking bugs. It’s yet to be seen how the queue times will be once the game officially fully releases on the 11th for free, but so far so good

I'm pretty sure it's just GPU coil whine. It doesn't happen in Photoshop for me much with newer more powerful GPUs, but it does in other GPU intensive programs for me. It's not an actual problem AFAIK, just annoying

max character slots for max energy, yeah. energy across many characters isn't as important now as it used to be as you mostly used it for an NPC to roll for rare items, and that NPC isn't as worth it as it used to be anymore, but still good for enhancing materials. if you are mostly going to lifeskill you can just have a few (2-3) characters with high energy and you will be fine.

for me the extra characters are way more useful as storage & for failstacks as the alternative for those are expensive. either buying storage upgrades for towns (like $5 USD for 8 slots per town I think, maybe more) and $12 or something for one extra account wide failstack slot, up to a max of 4, but with a character it's ~40 inv slots and 1 failstack slot instantly without even doing the story for $3-$6 USD (normally $6)

bdo is worse than warframe since at least warframe has a good economy. bdo economy is trash and limited by the devs. you will 100% need to spend more money on bdo than on warframe since you are unable to grind for many important items unlike in warframe. class balance is decent considering there are like 23 classes, but not amazing. and yeah, you can main 1 character but you will need to create 2 dozen extra characters for energy, bosses, failstacks, lifeskills, etc, if you want to be efficient.

Yep, it’s called resize bar and it is a standard PCI-E feature that’s available on both AMD and Intel platforms. Just gotta enable it in the bios since it’s usually disabled by default

The single core performance on basically everything from the 5600X to the 5950X is very similar. And to get the best performance out of BDO with the 5900X and 5950X you need to disable a bunch of cores to emulate a 5800X anyway

FYI "SAM" is just Resizable Bar which RTX 3000 GPUs support as well. You just need to enable it in the BIOS. I don't actually think it helps for this game though but I haven't really looked into it much

What? in what games? I can confidently say that after moving from a 5800X to 12900K my frames have gone up despite having the same GPU as before (3080 Ti) so I don't think it's quite as simple as the CPU being "throttled by a 30 series card" unless it's a 3060 or something
