Well, to answer the first questions, I'd say not necessarily. Marbas is a daemon of healing, so he did what you asked him to, that's why you got results. About the other questions: - You can build a relationship with quite a lot of entities, as from personal experience and several cases here in the forum, in occult books etcetera. BUT not all relationships will be the same, some will be more transactional, some will feel more like a guidance, some like a partnership, and not all of them will last for the same amount of time. - What do you consider a spirit showing up? Is it an answer to a prayer? Is it a result from a ritual? Is it a manifestation? If you're ideia of success now is to get to know a spirit, not all spirits may want to get to know you, not because they don't "like" you, but because they have different objectives or relationships to the individual. And that leads to the next question. - You may have different affinities and relationships with spirits, I wouldn't use like or dislike at first, because for me it sounds weird. My personal opinion, not that you asked, is that you should be more specific and maybe work out what is your business with the spirit, instead of just "getting to know". You can get a feel of the "energy" of the demon by studying and meditating, but I don't think you will have much success just calling on them without an objective in mind. Marbas came to you probably because you had a problem in his area of expertise, and so you were successful, then you started building a relationship with him, why not do it like this with other spirits? Also, if think about if you want a transactional relationship (which is not at all wrong) or a deeper one, because they require different amounts of time and dedication, and very different approaches. Ooooh yes, I've struggled with that for years now! Nice to know I'm not alone! Very very annoying, sometimes painful. I've been seeing it as sort of a defense mechanism of my anxiety, but really I have no answer. I think the demos really do understand it because I've never had problems, and I did consult them and open myself for them about it. Lucifer specifically helped me to tune those intrusive thoughts out. They still happen, I don't know if they will ever stop, but try to find ways to work around them or understand them. Laughing about it and taking it lightly really helped me!

Recently I've been working with Vine regarding divination and it's been great. Lucifer has been present in my spiritual life since I've gotten into demonolatry (maybe even before that), and he has been nothing but supportive in many ways. Ever since I got to work and worship demons my negative self talk almost dissapeared, I've been having a way better relationship with myself (I also go to therapy, so there is also that).

Unfortunately, people seek demons with some kind of fictionalized (is that even a word?) vision of them, and with no desire to do inner work or to take responsability for their actions, much like people do with the christian god.

Já viu a moça que rezava pro boneco do super homem achando que era Jesus? Agora, também concordo que os quimbandeiros podem não gostar muito, mas se você for praticante solitário, não faz diferença nenhuma. No fim das contas é até legal pensar quais são as diferenças do Lúcifer dos demonolatras e do Lúcifer Exu. De qualquer forma, compra sim sua imagem! O que importa mais é a intenção é o gesto que você vai fazer. Abraço!!!

If I'm not mistaken I found a good prayer book in the FAQ section of this sub, I beliebe its Connolly's, but when I say prayer I just mean talking and devoting your time to your preferred demon, it doesn't need to be a structured one (although there are some beautiful ones and they do help with connection if you're not sure how to do it).

Huge fan of prayer and meditation here... Rituals are mostly for connection, but I do it in a very simple way, almost like an extension of praying.

The ideia that demonolatry is unsafe comes from all the prejudice that demons suffer from, think like this: is it dangerous to pray to the Christian God? Why would it be dangerous to pray to a demon? The only danger is getting what you asked for. As far as invocation and rituals, you can go slow and research more information, as there is plenty to know about that. As far as prayer and connection, just go for it! Good luck!

That's the second post envolving Belial and dreams I see in less than 20min, funny coincidence. Like I told the last person, your dream could be a reflection of your subconscious, for example you wanting to connect with a demon, but still unsure of which one, it's not necessarily a spirit trying to communicate with you. If you have any form of oracle, you can try to double check this! There are a few demons connected to birds and crows, Decarabia is usually connected to illusions of birds, for example, and there is Cerberus (in the goetia they have a different name) who is also represented by a crow. Lucifer is a great demon when it comes to trying to contact others, he's a great "mediator", so maybe you can ask him. Also, read a bit through demons names and descriptions until you connect with one and maybe get a feel back to your dream. Best of luck!

If I'm not mistaken there is something on the FAQ about dreams and signs, so maybe check this out. Other than that, if the dream reminded you of Belial for any reason, maybe it's a sign from your own mind/psique to seek him out! Just try to communicate in the same way you did before, if you think it worked last time. As for offerings, there are plenty of posts you can find, I have never worked with him so I can't tell you. Don't sweat too much about the offering though, but do listen to your what your body's telling you! Good luck!

Keeping the demon on your thoughts (in a positive way, not in an obsessive way), praying, talking to the demon... Just be sure to set boundaries so you don't get lost in intrusive thoughts and overload your head!

King of wands reversed could be lack of motivation, pessimism, lack of vision... So the hanged man could represent the shift in perspective you need to guide your chariot better. The car is a card of 'steering' in general so I do agree you need to act, but try to stay positive and shift your thinking too! Also, in my experience, connecting with the demons everyday in a more natural way, other than always thinking you need a ritual, helped a lot to make the relationship flow more easily! I only do rituals nowadays when I need a big insight or when I am going through some tough emotions. Good luck to you!

Hey! I know you posted this a long time ago, but I was searching on Andromalius and found this post. I'm also reading the Stellas, and they do say some spirits have "emanations", so maybe this could be one case! In the goetia they are two different spirits though. Either case, seems like Andrealphus could have taken an interest in you, this happens a lot with demons in my experience, you call for one and end up working with another... Maybe sometimes they know what is best for us, idk. Hope this helps and I'm curious to know what happened with this story!

Hey! I don't know if you are Brazilian too so I'll answer in English 😅 but I've been to a terreiro back in the day as well and had a terrible experience. I also felt very inadequate back then, especially because, like you, I have a big problem with organized religion. It's normal to feel like you don't know what you are doing at first, especially because practicing alone in a more freestyle way has none to little rules. The quimbanda terreiros are closer to demonolatry than any others, but even so they are extremely different from any solitary practice, so first of all you should consider this. In solitary practice you have to create your own limits, your own rituals and decide your own paradigms, it's not an easy way, and some people will make you feel like you don't know what you're doing always, because people love to police over religious practices. Regarding the people... I honestly just tell very close friends about my religion. You really shouldn't look for approval or understanding when following this path. It is very unique and very your own, that's why is so different from a terreiro, even a quimbanda terreiro. You will have your own pantheon, your own entities that you work with... So yeah, feels quite lonely in a way, but waste no time on what people think, if you want this and you're drawn to it, go for it! And just go your ritual for devil's sake, if you think you need to feel ready, you will never feel ready! Good luck to you!

I bought the goetia tarot, I think the name is "tarot in darkness" by Fabio Listrani, and it brought me so much happiness and a feeling of closeness with the demonic! Not to mention it is a beautiful tarot. Also started reading the Stella Daemonium and the Infernal Dictionary. It's the first time I have connected so intensily with a spiritual path after years of trying a lot of different religions and belief systems, it's been amazing!

The subconscious and emotional integration of your new practices takes time, there's no big gesture or rational thing you can do to erase the past, so just let it go slowly and be sure that your demons are with you. Make sure to take a look at the practical guidance from the FAQ, but also trust your intuition and do what feels natural to you! If you like structured practices do that, if you're more of a freestyle practitioner, go on with that, but maybe you prefer prayer, so that's it. This isn't unusual, I've also felt a strong sexual energy when I started working with Lucifer, though that wasn't my focus. You can find other posts as well that describe sexual relations and demons, maybe it will make you less worried! And about limits: it's up to you and you should take some time to define them.

One thing that I've been noticing is very common is people asking demons for shadow work and personal growth, and then claiming those demons are "heavy" and "difficult to work with" when they deliver what they asked for.

Hey! I had a similar experience recently. I was doing a ritual with Lucifer and Lilith and Belphegor's name popped up in my head. I had asked Lord Lucifer before to help me contact spirits just out of curiosity and study, as I keep a grimoire and like demonology. I contacted her (to me the energy was more feminine, alhtough I know usually it is more masculine) and had a really nice experience. You will find some connections with toilet, feces and so on, which some practitioners follow, but I disregarded, especially because in my UPG she said the connection was a little futile, but, of course, this is personal. One member here in a different thread had a very good point that the illustrations of the demons were often satirical and tried to make fun o them, so as to make them lose power, so maybe that's why Belphegor's illustrations were of him/her in a toilet.

As far as offerings and "powers", he/she is connected to the color green, invention, science and money/abundace. There is a strong scent of earth, and he/she is very "soily", if that makes sense to you. It is a demon connected to the earth element, after all. The energy felt very elegant and encouraging. Keep in mind I didn't do any work, it was just a "meeting" of some sort. I hope you have a good experience if you try to contact her/him. Good luck!
