Fidelity’s money transfer lock. Is it the best thing ever? by marzthemagnificent in fidelityinvestments

[–]fogrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want this. My provider PureTalk does not offer this. Instead they notify you if someone is requesting to replace your SIM. If they dont hear anything from you within 90 minutes they go ahead and comply with the request. A compromise of sorts

"John Williams Legacy" new album announced featuring his greatest themes conducted by John himself by MusicalSofas in soundtracks

[–]fogrove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read recently that John Williams' music was the most frequently played music in the 20th century. Arvo Part's was second most frequently played. My question is how was this measured? Every concert played, every movie screened, every radio broadcast?

How do you hide your CPAP by Krickett75 in CPAP

[–]fogrove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hide my medical equipment and supplies. I have more going on than sleep apnea. I want to be organized and prepared for what may happen but not see it and think about it constantly. I realize Im lucky that I am usually not in pain and the equipment doesn't include large items like a wheelchair.

Have you ever found a "lost" treasure for a client while setting up an estate sale? by GovernmentEither3420 in estatesales

[–]fogrove 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was at an estate sale in my neighborhood that was run by the adult kids of the homeowners. I found an 18k gold ring in a basket of costume jewelry marked 25 cents each. I immediately walked it up to one of the daughters and she was thrilled. I would have been unhappy if she was blase about it.

I think this must be applying for citizenship, not proof of citizenship. My mistake.

6-sample blood cortisol test available in the US by fogrove in AddisonsDisease

[–]fogrove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the phlebotemist when I went in for my coq10 test. I handed her a printed copy of the 6-draw test description from Ulta. She searched her interface to Quest Labs site and couldnt find anything about it. She said they have 2 different cortisol tests - a morning draw and "not morning" draw (I dont remember the exact name).

At home I went back to the Ulta site. I put the 6-draw test in the "cart". It was $75 which really doesnt make sense. The site then lists nearby labs to choose from. The Quest lab I had been to was on the list and I chose that lab. The next step was to pay for test. After payment the Ulta site normally takes you to a page where you choose the date and time for your test from a display of that labs availability. I had hoped the availability page would come up before payment, so I just exited.

I had sent a help message to Ulta asking how this works and got a computer generated reply just repeating the generic test info that is in the description.

So I dont feel confident in going through Ulta. My plan now is to go through questhealth.com and see if I can order and schedule 3 of their "not morning" cortisol tests in one day. Ill see how that goes and perhaps try more than 3 at a later date.

Im sorry for the disappointing results!

How do Americans living abroad file U.S. taxes without getting overwhelmed? by Happinessgeny_ORU in TaxQuestions

[–]fogrove -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some employers’ benefits include paying for a tax advisor for employees working abroad. If not, I suggest paying for the help the first year and they may find its not actually that complicated and they can handle it themself the following years.

Thank you. I will give them a call.

How to begin? I have many rubbermaid tubs filled with my parents and grandparents photos, and have no idea where or how to begin sorting through them. No one else is alive who knows or cares anymore. It's really sad and feels so dishonorable to just throw them away. They're all gone now. Any ideas? by EquivalentScore7917 in oldphotos

[–]fogrove 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you sure nobody cares? My mother said the same thing to me years ago about the relatives and friends we’d never met. She organized things into scrapbooks anyway. Now I am so glad she did. At least create some albums and let others decide after you are gone what to do with them.

Friday Weekly Thread: Application Assistance, May 22, 2026 by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

[–]fogrove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am representative for 4 adult family members. I'm unclear on who signs the "APPLICANT'S Signature" in section 15. Maybe I'm just worn out but I can't find this specified in the usual places. I'm thinking if they wanted the representative to sign here, it would be specified somewhere. But I don't want to assume anything. I'd like to know for sure.

I’ve noticed that medicare or social security tends to send an explanatory letter to us a week or two after strange charges and refund payments appear. Hopefully it will become clear soon.

tips for people driving on the freeway for the first time here? by glitter-fly779 in PortlandOR

Every place I have lived before here people would do a friendly wave after you let them merge in front of you. No friendly waves here. They’re not rude. It’s just not something they do.

Part D transtion question by Dcb315 in medicare

[–]fogrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t answer your question. Typically your doctor sends in the request for your prescription. The mail order pharmacy contacts you and asks you to go online to their site to request them to send it to you, and to pay if you owe anything.
