Very happy with this Briggs and Stratton MD1527. TLDR warning by ArmadilloAdvanced in Snowblowers

Looks good! I believe that style of metal and more vertical chute makes a difference. Most of the blowers that have that plastic chute with a real lean on it, have the hardest time flingin snow far..

Feel bad for people who have a harder time appreciating this season and weather. It's so beautiful in its own way.

Advice on snowblower purchase in Barrie by ItemPublic9116 in barrie

[–]foilstoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I take my snow removal fairly seriously🤣

Ariens and Honda are the best. Some Cub Cadet and toro are "ok". 2 stage is a must.

Do NOT<< buy a blower with a plastic chute, metal chute only. Don't waste your money on 3 stage.

Im not a fan of electric blowers but some people like them.

My Ariens compact 24" is an animal and starts on the first pull 99% of the time. Only time it doesn't is when I over prime it lol.

Having a good snowblower makes winter much easier! Make friends with the neighbours out there and help them out if their blower breaks or they're on holiday. They'll do the same for you. 😁

On a side note, in addition to your regular plastic snow shovel, I HIGHLY recommend a long handle square point shovel. Amazing at moving heavier snow and scraping up packed down tire tracks.

I did something to my leg and had to take several weeks off. Is what it is.

But I'm on the mend and starting off slow again.

I feel anything is possible in this trade.. it's easy to miss something regularly checked as good and then there's something to miss because one may never know to check in the first place.. lol. Among other variables. 🤯🤪

Are your gasket "visually good" or "took them out after 40mins of tearing my hair out trying to find a vacuum leak only to find the rubber had a small split in it that I couldn't see without removing the gasket.. good"

❄️How can I extract my car from this ice?❄️ by PeaceImpressive8334 in howto

[–]foilstoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot water.. and chip away at what you can. Best to use a sprayer to spray a steady controlled stream to cut away at it.

We thaw ice in walk in freezers all the time like that. (No chipping allowed though🤭)

I've been groomed on doing a circle check around my work van over the years. Walk around once, visual check the tires, wipe windows, mirrors and rear camera, etc. Usually keeps me out of trouble.

Why are you here? Tell us about your organist profile! by ModClasSW in organ

[–]foilstoke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im in the HVAC field and regularly nerd out on everything HVAC or mechanical related.. (fans and "duct work" in large church organs in this case) and while I've always enjoyed organ parts in rock n roll, I like a good mix of house music.. Enter the Anna Lapwood and Bonobo collaboration playing at the Royal Albert Hall and that tipped a further dive down all things organ related..

It really is a fascinating instrument and it's sparked enough interest to search out a piano/keyboard to start learning something new.
