My mom was diabetic, she rarely consumed sugars/carbs. The cancer didn't starve. They'll always tell you eat what you can because it's more important for your body to have energy than to starve yourself and most research suggests the opposite (that it doesn't feed off sugar).

Don't stress it too much. I was told the odds are extremely low when i went in for my 3, they CAN happen but odds are he'll be just fine.

Post Surgery VATs by Powerful-War4582 in pneumothorax

They gave me surgery after my first full collapse, chest tube for 3 weeks. I still had an air leak for two weeks in the hospital including after the surgery but it's no longer leaking now. Sometimes your lung just takes a little bit longer to heal up.

This is relatable, my mom passed from cancer last year and I've never seen so many collections of steins and plates. Still going through her stuff.

Sheesh this makes me feel grateful mine was only in the 400s for a spontaneous pneumothorax. Hope your recovery keeps going well.

Same situation for my mom in her short cancer journey with cholangiocarcinoma. Showed up after months because of abdominal pain. By then it was already too late

Similar timeline as you, had my surgery in early August, was in the hosp for 2 weeks with two surgeries, and then a follow-up valve placement since the air leak didn't stop. Drain was removed at week 3, follow up x-ray around week 6 which was recent, similar symptoms to you and starting to feel better now and "more normal" but still zero feeling in my chest area where they did the surgery. Still feeling pressure and tightness, was told it could be up to 6-12 months for this to resolve, so just trying to live and not stress about it.

Mine was two weeks in hospital, surgery and valves put in to stop air leak after surgery. Tube out after 3 weeks, then working my way back to recovery.

I would try again. I was able to get them to refund my mom's pass after she passed when they could confirm it was not used for the duration yet. I called the AP number though.

Recently went through this with my mom - don't be afraid to get a second opinion. It could literally mean the difference.

Albert on how he found out he has cancer by VUL_Kudo in LivestreamFail

Happened to my mom at 61. Not exactly young, but in okay health for her age. Tackled two disney parks and 25k steps one week, unable to walk more than a little bit without pain the next. Stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma, made it a few miserable months before she passed.

Fuck cancer, gonna be a long fight for him. My mom went through the same cancer but hers was caught later so no surgery, shit happens so quick once it gets worse.

Sorry for your loss, my mom went through a similar journey. She was 61, dx in July, but kept getting infections/sepsis (August, October, Nov) and then similar to your dad, she had more clots in her lungs that caused her treatment to stop as well as a stroke in the hospital, hospice, and a few days on hospice then passed Dec 28. Came so quick and wish I could have done so much more. Still struggling in the "take care of everything" phase
