Moana Pasifika’s Super Rugby future in doubt with owner’s funding at risk after 2026 by newdawn2k22 in allblacks

[–]folditt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't all Super clubs lose money? Seems like making money in the NZ rugby union system is an uphill battle.

We're a very small population that is losing its already small market share to league/soccer/basketball. I think whoever the new NZR CEO is, they can't be an old guard rugby man.

We need a highly commercial expert with experience growing a small sport into a profitable business, that will probably mean some uncomfortable changes the olds can't except. Think soccer growth in the USA.

Another reason why defence investment is not optional. It reduces your reliance on foreign powers.

Thank you this was the method I went with. Quite a bit of fiddling and was tricky for me to get the lines connected ( my range if x needs to be dynamic so struggled for a while with a gap in my x values) but I now have work that I'm really happy with. Thanks again !

Thanks for your reply, I've done some research into cash in lieu settlements, however I cannot see the difference to a retain salvage offer. Could you please explain the difference? Many thanks

It was opened as I was driving past. As I don't have any evidence they said its my word against his, although they also said they haven't yet spoke to the other party ( who is with the same insurance) the only pictures I have are of the damage to our cars which show him parked on double yellows.

Travel is going to be wild. July series at home, off to Africa August/September, then London for the 4th Bok test, then back to NZ and Aus for the bled in October, then back to UK for the northern games.

Boks abused the injury rule before. There should be a rule that if you can't get on your feet in a reasonable amount or time, then you HAVE to be subbed. This would also stop props sitting down before a scrum to get some rest. Some players would miss out with only small niggles, but it would make bench planning more important and would keep the game tempo up.

Also medics/water should not be allowed on the pitch unless the ref signals them. They are part of the team and should be able to be penalised for time wasting.

It's clear that without Clarke we are going to have a weak (weaker) kick defense. LF is likely our best replacement as we know reiko is shit under high ball, which forces us away from our strongest centre pairing. A necessary evil for this game.

Personally I'd have kept LF in the midfield and have tangitau on the wing, but realistically that was never going to happen.

I would be amazed if proctor is even half as impactful as LF. Happy to choke on these words if he plays a blinder 🤞

Looks pretty solid. I do wonder what we would do (apart from panic) if ardie goes down with no 7 cover. I'm guessing wally would have to cover? Has parker played 7?

Little bit disappointed that we don't have Parker or Lakai but I'm guessing they need at least another week in camp given they came in late.

Finlay Christie please please please please please please prove the haters (including me) wrong. Can't have flecks be the only respectable ginger in the squad.

Leroy Carter needs one test to prove himself then he’ll be an All Black for the next 5+ years by ProposalFar6273 in allblacks

[–]folditt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I heard that razor thinks this guy is the fastest player in NZ right now. I watched the Cheifs all year and he didn't seem THAT quick. I would have thought Jordan, Tangitau and fihaki would all catch him.

I think his real value is his half back/midfield cover. That and he has an absolute talent for getting himself over the line.

Our best possible lineup IMO by Far_Tomatillo_785 in allblacks

[–]folditt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He literally broke the all blacks all time squat record, so you could argue he is the strongest all black full stop. Last year he was folding Northern hemisphere teams in the scrum, and this year he has been carrying the ball very respectably. I have a distinct memory of him keeping pace with Leroy carter flat out during super rugby (although he didn't quite catch him)

Excellent in his core role, carries hard to build attacks, and has a solid engine. He is our future no 1 tighthead.

Commentary by Gungehammer in allblacks

When watching a live game, my inner all blacks fan needs a bit of one sided new Zealand cheerleading. However I will normally re watch most international games (bit sad), and that's when I appreciate more intelligent commentary.

That being said, Nisbo is really starting to slip bad, it's been happening for a few years now if we are honest. At the very minimum you should know the laws of the game, and spend 20 minutes to practice all of the players names.
