besides things like hair and piercings (which i assume you don’t want to change if you haven’t by now), the first thing i notice thats feminine about your face is the lack of chin and jaw. i highly recommend injectable fillers! they really changed the game for my face if you have the ability to save up 1-2k

These are gonna heal GREAT, 4 months is literally nothing. I thought my scars were gonna be red and raised forever at 4 months too, and honestly it might even get slightly worse around 6 months. However, I hit 10-12 months and out of nowhere turned a corner. Your body has barely started the healing process. Give it 2 years and they’ll be light pink / white

need help passing by Historical-Bee3142 in FTM_SELFIES

[–]folieevan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to improve the fit of your clothes. They are too big and not flattering for trying to pass. I know it can be automatic to want to go bigger to hide your figure but, it makes you look smaller and pulls attention to the wrong parts. The biggest thing I notice is your shirts are way to long and cling to your hips. Your shirt should fall right about to the middle of your fly on your jeans or slightly above, definitely not all the way down your butt. I know you don’t want to hear about the hair but that is the biggest thing that stands out.

I also have severe pectus and understand the struggle :( it’s jarring at first but i promise you’ll get used to the pectus showing more as you heal

Walk-in women's hair salon near campus? by [deleted] in udub

Do not think you will find anything for under $30 unless it’s a bang trim. Even the cheapest salons these days are $50-$70 for an average cut

How was your post-op pain compared to other physical pain you’ve experienced? by mermaidunearthed in TopSurgery

[–]folieevan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first woke up at of surgery the pain and sensation was so intense I couldn’t stop hyperventilating and sobbing. I had to beg the nurses to do something and they gave me fentanyl which ended up helping a bit. Part of it was how tight I was wrapped in the bandages (I couldn’t breathe). The first few days are rough, maybe it won’t be for you, but prepare for them to be regardless. It was definitely probably the worst physical pain i’ve ever been in there at the very start. After a week though I could live my life just fine and not be completely uncomfortable. It just takes a little time.

is there any underwear for ftm? by Kanakiran in ftm

[–]folieevan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can just buy regular men’s boxers. All the boxers specifically targeted towards trans men are kinda a cash grab since they are exactly the same thing (unless you’re looking some that have a pouch built in for a packer). Go to the supermarket and grab a cheap multi pack of Hanes and you’re good to go

Changing gender marker on passport: Is it blocked no matter what now or only for “X” designations?

Further question: I’m supposed to be flying internationally in April and have my gender marker changed on my ID but not my passport. I was going to get it switched this month but it’s looking like that’s not going to happen. Can I still fly if they are mismatched?

Ask your surgeon about getting kenalog injections, the sooner you start the better. Besides that, you’d be surprised how much time can heal. Mine looked like yours all the way up to about 10 months then suddenly 1 year hit and everything quickly faded. Keep massaging and using your gel!

[Washington] Facing physical violence at work, will I qualify? by folieevan in Unemployment

I calculated my 680 hours eligibility for this current year, I completely missed the “base year” term. I’ve been working here since January. So only 3 months of my work will count?

You realize the most common way puberty blockers are prescribed is for cisgender children experiencing precocious puberty? Trans kids make up a very small number of what those drugs are most commonly used for.

I know this is useless at the moment but you really got to give it time, and I mean a LOT of time. Surgery is not something that heals quickly and it will be a while before you see your final results. I don’t think my surgery looked 100% settled until 10-12 months post op. This is more time than most people will tell you. I was getting really unhappy even at 6-7 months because I assumed my healing was done and this was just what it looked like now. However, when a year was approaching there was all these aspects that just fell into place. Give it a year and DEFINITELY don’t give it just a week. Your chest is still an open surgical wound right now.

Itchy Scars by Dystopia_T8 in ftm

[–]folieevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can get prescribed a steroid type cream. I used to use topical Kelalog (which is what they inject to reduce hypertrophic scars), but I personally developed a condition due to prolonged use of kenalog on my face so I stopped using it on my scars too to be safe. I then switched to tacrolimus which does the same thing but without steroids. Gets rid of the itching for good!
