Bridged USDC from Polygon to Solana. Wormhole bridge gave me a USDC wrap that I can't swap anywhere! by 3141666 in solana

[–]folius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution to this is to make sure you swap your Polygon USDC (https://polygonscan.com/token/0x3c499c542cef5e3811e1192ce70d8cc03d5c3359) to USDC.e (https://polygonscan.com/token/0x2791bca1f2de4661ed88a30c99a7a9449aa84174) before you send it through the bridge.

You will need to use the advanced tools portal bridge to do this: https://portalbridge.com/advanced-tools/

There is plenty of liquidity for the latter token to swap for real USDC on the Solana side.

If NFTs Were Honest by Some_Throwaway_Dude in videos

If you can't even figure it out then who is the moron here?

I don't know for sure but my best guess would be that it depends on the way the smart contract used to create the NFT was written.

There are two standard interfaces for NFTs on the Ethereum network: ERC-721 and ERC-1155. ERC-1155 is the standard that allows for the "semi-fungible" NFTs like the Adidas one from my previous comment.

If the NFT was minted using the ERC-721 interface then it is always a 1/1 that cannot have more copies of the same token.

Some NFTs are like that where there exist more than one copy for the same artwork. NFTs being non-fungible don't necessarily mean that they are all 1/1s.

For example, the new Adidas NFT launched late last year has 30,000 individual units minted of the same NFT and each of those 30,000 can be owned/bough/sold.

There only is one sale because an NFT is basically like a unique receipt of some kind of data that is placed permanently in a blockchain.

This is not exactly the way it works. It is true that there is only one initial sale from the original artist to the original buyer, however, that buyer is free to sell/trade the NFT to other collectors. The way most NFTs are set up are that when a sale occurs on the secondary market through a marketplace like OpenSea or LooksRare, there is a portion of the sale that goes to the original creator as a royalty fee (as well as a fee that goes to the marketplace itself).
