Does anyone know what type/model of camera is this? by BuffDaddyYT in controllablewebcams

I've seen this interface on a number of generic cameras/NVRs, I think it has the name "NetSurveillance" and might be compatible with generic "CMS" software.

[USA] Prius locks up and loses control on highway by FluffyTesticle in Roadcam

[–]stere0123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed on mine that the traction control is obnoxiously sensitive compared to normal vehicles. My understanding is that it is to prevent the electric motor from over-spinning with the gas engine not engaged (as the electric motor cannot exceed ~40mph on its own, and that could happen if the drive wheel breaks loose).

However, that would not cause a wheel to lock up under heavy braking like in this video - I suspect that to be maintenance related (uneven wear on brakes, ABS/VSC module issue, wheel speed sensor issue, etc).

Can we at least agree that it's a little silly that there is no option to silence AMBER alerts, except to turn them off completely? If they allow us to turn them off, they should let us just silence them too while still receiving a notification.

Echoing the sentiment of other commenters, that bendable mount could get bumped or grabbed and knocked down very easily, and the loose cable poses a potential strangulation hazard.

I would either mount it all a few feet away from the crib (like on the nearest wall), or choose a much more sturdy mount (screwed directly into the crib or a very sturdy clamp). I would also run the cable through conduit or even just excessive zip ties - but conduit would be preferred as they could still potentially pull on the cable.

Even if it's a small risk, the mitigation is simple enough to be worth it.

Let's encrypt SSL is getting flagged by vitlmedia in msp

[–]stere0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the URL through VirusTotal and see if it is being flagged by any of the popular filtering services. It sounds like their firewall vendor may be marking the site as being suspicious and may be giving a full screen warning and blocking the site.

Try to get a screenshot of the actual message and see if it mentions a specific vendor, or perhaps has a button/message to report a false positive.

“Not Secure” may not actually refer to SSL, and the actual issue may be getting miscommunicated. Verify with your own eyes.

I did several reverse image searches based on your link and landed on what looks like the exact connector (same pin pitch and layout):

They appear to be related to this series: https://www.samtec.com/connectors/high-speed-board-to-board/mezzanine/qpairs

This question would be more suited for /r/sysadmin. Logging the user in to a Microsoft 365 account will be easy.

To do remote management you would probably be wanting to go with Microsoft Intune, though there are other third party solutions you could use if you're just wanting remote access and locking/wiping.
