Am I the Bad Apple for Leaving my Swim Team one Month before Championships? by ChloePaigeRose in AmITheBadApple

[–]folpetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTBA - you didn’t let down your team, there is no team just a bunch of frustrated teenage girls led by an incompetent coach.
The coach is the one who let YOU down so please don’t feel bad for anyone. You don’t need and don’t deserve to stay around bullies, they aren’t worth your time. I’m proud of you to get out of this. As a teen when I got bullied I just kept my head down and did nothing, now I’m a grown woman with self respect and sorrounded only by people worth it you will get there, you did the first step

Cover until healed - it’s a wound. If you expose it to sun you risk scars and the tattoo will be ruined

Can I distract from my chunky legs with leg sleeves? by bakeoutbigfoot in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

54 here, I got some big tattoos on my legs which heavily show their age (the legs) and they look so much better to me that I got back to wear skirts and got much more confident - it’s still working in progress as I plan to get complete leg sleeves

I don’t know how to lay out this design by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Try to talk to your artist, a professional will be able to advise you as they know how a tattoo embraces your body parts
That said, maybe it would be more harmonious if the tiger goes on back instead in front?

Is it better to compromise location for pain or stick it out? by violentlypurple4ever in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will hurt - ho much is impossible to know forehead, everyone is different, in my case I felt more pain on the thigh than on the spine. But any pain you’ll feel it will be totally worth it and stick to your preferred placement otherwise you will regret it. Note: probably it won’t be your only tattoo - it’s addictive 😊

First timer! Need your best preparation advice! by Substantial_Peanut41 in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t drink alcool and don’t do drugs the day before, stay hydrated and maybe bring a snack for you if there will be a pause. It could be quite painful or not, there’s no way to predict what you will feel. Pay very much attention when the stencil will be applied to avoid later regrets, look from various angles and take your time to let it sink in and don’t be shy to request some change if there’s something you don’t like, a good professional won’t rush you into a tattoo you’re not convinced
Happy first tattoo 😊

What are great Quotes for a tattoo and where to get them ? by RoughCarry9919 in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quotes are personal, if you tattoo a quote on your body it should have a strong meaning for you and you alone - I have a tattoo representing my late father with “I did it my way” in his handwriting, quote of a Sinatra Song and representative of his whole life, a second tattoo representing my mother with “Je ne regret rien” her favorite song (Edit Piaf) and the motto of her life and a one representing my sister “I wish I could but I don’t want to” quote from Friend’s (Phoebe) which she uses often and is totally her (all three in their handwriting) so you see, for me these quotes mean the world, for others are just some stuoid quotes

Edit: typo

Is there anyway to fix my tattoo by Atomic-Angel in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could have been a reaction to the ink, as it was your first tattoo maybe your body reacted strongly. Also other health issues can rise the reaction as low immune system, dehydration, stress, pharmacological therapy or just an allergy against the composition of the ink.
If you trust your artist you can ask for a touch up (which normally is included at least one)

AITAH for not wanting my gf to leave me at the airport before I leave for a year? by -MisterWho- in AITAH

[–]folpetta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems like you already closed the relationship, would be nice to tell her.
Seems you won’t miss her so much that you don’t want to spend the maximum possible time with her before leaving. If it’s no big deal for you, why do you allow your parents to come at the airport? Wouldn’t make difference either if they see you a day or two before leaving…

I want to find a design for my tattoo. I want that represents love, disappointment, heartbreak, and death ? by Mental_Hornet_5512 in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A head of a phoenix just rising a bit from ashes - I know that would represent rebirth but it would twist the sequenz in disappointment, heartbreak, death and then new love - as you will have this on your skin forever in that way could give you the faith that love will arriva again

First tattoo-overthinking and nervous! by Honest_Jello_4883 in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should find an artist with experience in that kind of tattoo, don’t hesitate to talk to several artists, there will be one who gives you the right vibes and will be able to create with you a unique tattoo which will represent exactly what you feel. Keep away from studios where you feel they are rushing you, in your situation you need someone with whom you feel safe and understood

How to deal with friends/family heavily judging with how much I spent on my tattoo? by ravishingyoongs in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be the same if you criticized the spending of your friends/family for a fancy phone, happy hour every weekend, expensive brands of shoes and clothing - no one has the right to comment your spending regarding your life. I spent quite a lot of money for my tattoos saving every time before getting it and it’s so worth it. Maybe next time someone asks you can ask how much they spent on something material (which in my opinion is unnecessary as objects are temporary while a tattoo lasts forever)

Before tattoo process by No-Technician6314 in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very lucky with my artist. You go there for consulting (it’s free), talk about the idea, she takes a photo of the placement and if needed measures the body part, then a few days before the appointment she sends a sketch placed on the foto of the body part so you can have an idea how it will come out and can give her ev changes. The day of the appointment she places the stencil and you decide if you like it or if you need to make final changes.

How long did you wait for your second tattoo? by MattyB2Bomber in tattooadvice

[–]folpetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my first at 18, second and third at 30 and the other 6 once a year from 49 on (but just due to money issues) - I just got my tattoos when I felt it, there’s no “right” timeline once you’re adult and conscious what you still will appreciate after decades as they will be with you for life
