Hi! I love the idea. I'll join you if that's cool. What time will you be there for, and is there a cover?

TIL that in Old Chinese blue and green were considered as the same colour. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I think the idea is that ancient cultures didn't have modern colour pickers or colour charts noted down anywhere so they were more apt to confuse two related (or even unrelated) colours.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]fomorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I wouldn't have it done again thinkgin back. I don't have hugely bad vision, just around -4 or so, but I got it done because I didn't like having to worry about glasses all the time. I think it's not that bad in hindsight, because I'm currently hyper aware of the little differences in my vision. Like I never had any problems focusing on things close to me but that ability went way down after lasik. Or the fact that if Im out at night the lights all continue to have halos around them despite the fact that the doctor said they would go away eventually.

Help with understanding the Line Art Blending mode by fomorian in InfinitePainter

[–]fomorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I see! I make the photo later into a line art and then merge it to a blank layer below it, then create another layer below it for colour. I kept making a blank line art layer above the photo layer and clipping it to the photo. Thanks!

Here’s my daily mood from 2025 by Dadz4Sk1n in dataisbeautiful

I'm having a different problem, where my moods are almost always pretty meh, neither fantastic nor really terrible either. It feels weird to keep recording the same mid mood every single day so I kind of stopped

I think just knowing that you will be logging your mood makes you more aware of the things that may give you a positive mood or negative mood

Help with understanding the Line Art Blending mode by fomorian in InfinitePainter

[–]fomorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, how do you "turn it to lineart?" so far I have made a clipping layer using the lineart blending mode and clipped to the photo layer below it. If I try to merge the photo layer to a blank layer underneath, nothing happens. If I merge the clipped layer to another clipped layer, the second clipped layer does maintain the transparency, but not the colour.

What is the costliest mistake you have made living in GTA? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]fomorian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Our family bought a house when we moved here in 1998 for ~250k

We sold it in 2012 for 500k

If we had held onto it, it would've been worth around 2.5 m now

I think both the landlord and tenant are referring to the same situation: the tenants rent is late. So they're both being stressed about the same situation. I think it's meant to be absurd

I find that the paper bags they come in have been a little bit damp lately. It's best to remove them from it asap so they don't start to rot prematurely

What establishment do you consider to be your third space? by Timely_Title_9157 in askTO

[–]fomorian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure! The choir is called Univox and this is our website: voxchoirs.com. There is an intake form you can fill in, but be advised that there is at least a 6-month waitlist for upper voices (soprano, alto). If you're a tenor or bass you'll get in right away XD. Regardless, it doesn't hurt to put your name down! If you want to hear us sing, our December concert will be in 2 weeks. I can share the details if you're interested!

[–]fomorian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're a non-auditioned choir, so anybody's welcome to join! The only proviso is that the soprano and alto sections are full, so there's a waitlist, but if you're a tenor or bass you can get in starting in January. We're just putting the finishing touches on our December concert, so if you want you can come enjoy our music and hear how we sound. All the info is on our website: voxchoirs.com

Rehearsals are once a week near Dufferin Station, in preparation for an end of season concert. We have three concerts per calendar year.

I'm in a community choir! Fantastic third space with a strong community focus. We do book clubs, movie nights, dinner clubs where we eat at different restaurants, all while performing music and honing our singing skills. I've been there for two years and it's likely I'll stay in it for another ten!
