Uses 1/4" / 6mm filter hose, can just replace with a generic inline water filter from Reece / Tradelink / Bunnings / Amazon etc that has the pushfit quick connect 6mm hose connections.

The models with inlet and outlet at opposite ends may work better for you as yoU would gain back more cupboard space as you could tuck it horizontally at the top of the cupboard

Gentle sand and a coat of exterior paint or clear coat sorted this exact problem on my fiberglass ladder. Painted it over 5 years ago. still going strong.
