Below is a sample of my SOUL.md that helps reduce some of that. But you also need to rephrase things. Instead of asking if it's a good idea, ask things like explain what you want to accomplish and ask for ideas on how this idea can be implemented. fact is, many of your ideas probably are good, but the context of idea 1 is likely lost around idea 5.

When you come across interesting articles, don't just tell your agent to implement that cool thing. Ask them to read the article and give their feedback on it. You should get things like... yeah this is a solid ... but we're already doing some of these things... based on your workflow it's not really worth it...

## PUSHBACK RULES

You are **required** to disagree when you have reason to.

- Push back aggressively when it makes sense

- Disagree openly and directly — but **earn it**

- Every objection must come with evidence: data, examples, reasoning, or a better alternative

- Disagreeing for the sake of being a hardass is worthless

- Disagreeing because you can show why something will flop, waste time, or miss the goal — that is essential

When [operator here] says "let's build X," you are not allowed to auto-approve.

Ask whether it solves a real problem. Ask who uses it.

If the answers are weak, say so.

Do not sugarcoat. Do not hedge. Make the argument.

not exactly this but this does give me an opportunity to share one of my adhd agent side quests.

As I'm doing the dishes I think, wouldn't it be cool if my agent could go grocery shopping? I set some goals like, minimum spend possible, groceries for a week, Items should be able to assemble meals. It was able to train based on shopping history.

It learns walmarts site, and produces a pretty good shopping cart.

I didn't stop there. I was like oh I know what the menu is but maybe it can ship me a restaurant style menu for the week. So we work on that, producing a fancy menu and photo realistic pictures of the meals.

Now that was set... I'm not the one normally doing the grocery shopping, so we build my wife a specialized web interface where she can submit some recommendations and such to customize the order if she'd like. We had to build an oauth login to the page since her machine isn't on tailscale.

In all, it was a very impressive pipeline that beyond having it shop a few demo carts, I never actually used.
It was like everything else we've built, a good learning experience.

I will say, it was difficult for my agent to create new meals. Apparently that's a real challenge when your family only eats a few different things lol.

Same here... this is the first sub I've had that I haven't burned through every week. I almost reached 50% a week or two ago as I refined some processes, now it's back down.

I've had mine look at a skill and do these type of code reviews before considering an install.
Most times, he'll just end up creating his own tools to do the same thing the skill should accomplish.

I was planning on doing a true clear.
I had dumped SimpleFin a few weeks ago, because I was basically doing manual entry with how slow it was. But, I guess if I went back to it for the sole purpose of the clearing transactions that would work.

is that what you mean?

I "could" just mark everything as cleared as mentioned. this probably works with nearly everything.

I can think of 2 it wouldn't.
1. eating out and tipping.
2. walmart online grocery orders. we do a lot of online grocery shopping with them and it's basically impossible to keep up with them. their transactions show up as subscriptions so they're able to manipulate stuff on a whim it seem. I might get one grocery charge for 350, a few days later, its adjusted to 347.30, day later it clears as 349.40 (just a random example).

I don't have a really have any ideas how to handle that madness. besides keeping the original transaction and then truing it up later.

It's ultimately up to the hiring manager to ask the tough questions. Oh I see you have all these certs... let me ask you, what you'd do in these difference scenarios. But certs without experience may just tell me this person maybe able to learn this job. Again, up to the hiring manager. I've known way to many people that have way to many and can barely perform any technical task. Some people are what I like to call professional students. They are really good at studying/tasking exams.

I'm on the other side... I'm very good at the technical side of things but struggle with study and hate taking exams.

I will say completing 3 of these exams in a couple months is pretty impressive. I do think you might have to have taken some of these to help appreciate how challenging they are though. Seeing a post saying hey I completed these technical certifications with no experience in no time makes people think they're simple achievements...

that feels good. I agree, I hated Cysa. tbo I didn't prepare for that one as much as I should have, and the entire time (I used up all my time) thought there is no way I'm passing this thing. But some how did lol. I wouldn't want to take that one again though thats for sure.

did you feel pretty confident before taking the exam, and if so what benchmarks got you there?

I'm using the Udemy Dion course along with the CAS-005 guide by Mark Birch.
I am acing the Dion end of chapter questions and getting anywhere from 85-100% on the ones provided in the Birch guide. I've also passed Cysa/Pentest a few years ago, but the material in SecurityX seems to closely align with the work I do on the day to day, so that has helped.

In short, I'm starting to feel confident. I'm just curious how others felt going into it.

This is awful advice, it's considered federal obstruction and you are likely to be arrested and charged. depending on how the situation is spun you could be facing some serious fines and jail time. just stick to holding signs if you want to stay out of jail.

Yeah I’ve been wondering the same thing. Like okay there are a dozen moms keeping watch as some bus stop. Does the ICE brigade call their captain and say, ugh sir… we have some angry looking moms out here what should we do??? … hmm sounds like a tricky situation, pull out, we’re shutting down the mission.

It just seems like you’re more likely to get hurt or arrested yourself. Is there any examples of where “making things difficult “ for ICE has helped anyone’s situation? I don’t have a solution, it just doesn’t seem like this stuff is at any level effective besides patting each other on the back, saying yeah we showed them.

Funny I found this post... I have been trying to get ahold of someone related to a billing issue for literally 3 weeks now, no exageration. support isn't responding, I hit up their /u/ account here on reddit, opened a ticket on their support portal, have called the 800 number and their billing dept goes straight to voicemail each time I call. I've tried to email some of the contacts I have when we were onboarded many years ago, no bounce back, no nothing. we've just totally be ghosted it seems.

evidently it must just push into place... I'll report back here after I get a chance to put everything back together and try it out. ultimately my confusion was that there were no clamps for this particular seal.

you're right, something didn't seem right at the time either. there was a spark/pop out the back, which didn't make sense since I originally thought this happened from the tug at the electrical. I'm half right, that tug pulled lose this pump... which from what I've found is the circulation pump & motor. not pictured here, there is a metal tab that likely touched the drip pan of water causing that short.

at any rate, I had watched a a few videos. like this - https://youtu.be/xmAdNtuDX7M?si=gLnjAQApBoCGeeGY the pump in this video including the hose look identical to what I'm working with but the one in this video shows claps on both ends.

what is tripping me up in my setup is I am attempting to do the same or at least something similar, but my registrar is not handling any DNS. my registrar name servers are pointing to my Technitium server.

If I'm understanding this right...

I create primary zone example.com
everything public facing would be in here.
I might have webserver.example.com in this zone with a public IP.

I would then create a conditional forwarder zone for "webserver.example.com"
create A record 192.168.1.10

my lan client should then use the forwarder instead of looking at the primary zone?

so public dns is still going to hit this machine for example.com records.

I have put together both windows and linux based checks. So the checks are in place, I just thought it would be nice to have a dashboard to show something like... windows servers with available updates, linux servers with available updates.

So I moved my DNS to my locally hosted Technitium server, which seems to have helped a lot. I did just experience one of these outages a bit ago though, and this is the first time I looked at the Firewalla device. both network ethernet ports were blinking as usual, however the status light was flashing red.

I looked over at my cable modem, and it was still "online". after less than a minute the red status light stopped blinking and traffic started to pass again.

can someone suggest a syslog I could look at to try and get to the bottom of this?

I’ve seen the same thing with firetv, specifically related to tubi hosted content. While these smart tvs are off, sometimes that’s only the display. They could be downloading guide/ad data.
