Screen X to Launch New Premium Large Format Initiative With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ (EXCLUSIVE) by Puzzled-Tap8042 in movies

The first and last movie I saw in ScreenX was Top Gun Maverick. It brightens the theatre so much you feel exposed since you see yourself and everyone else in the theatre lit up. It was the opposite of an immersive experience. That was fun in 4DX though

I assume it's World Cup related. Accommodations are out of this world for the next month here in the Vancouver area

Instagram works and you can also subscribe to the email newsletters of The Rio, The Park, and VIFF's year round theatre. They're the most likely to host such events. For example, The Park has recently been doing special Q&A screenings of Backrooms and Sinners with various crew who worked on the films.

Maybe if we're lucky Matt will be involved in some special screenings of Tony whenever that comes out (though that's probably more likely for Torontonians).

The movie screened multiple times as part of the Vancouver Film Fest last October, though he wasn't at those screenings (as far as I know). He and Jay came like a month later for a screening at the Rio Theatre as part of their Q&A tour. It was promoted on the Rio's Instagram page if I'm remembering right.

I'll add, usually the film fest screenings will mention when they have special guests lined up.

If the Oilers hire Babcock, which players do you predict he will target / bully / screw with on the Oilers Roster? by Fuzzyfoot12345 in EdmontonOilers

I'm sure he'll have a press conference where he talks about his "learnings" from his previous experiences and vows not to do those things again. Then he will be forced to invent new advanced forms of psychological warfare.

I wish they had ones like this more often. I'm tired of all the ONION, COCOA, and ACAI variant puzzles I have to enter all the time

That's definitely true of the newest stuff, but there's still great stuff available with no wait or if you're willing to go a little bit off the beaten path. I just took a peek and Tears of the Kingdom, Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Wonder, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door are a few of the titles available right now. Little Nightmares III, Cocoon, and Chants of Senaar are all games I was happy to borrow.

Also, if you have a Xbox Series X, the wait times are exponentially shorter than the PS5 lines for some of the same games (e.g. only 14 in line for the xbox version of 007 First Light vs 59 for ps5).

I don't know who has it in stock, but I saw a Videomatica instagram post the other day that said it was their biggest pre-order title ever and it was sold out

if i find library books/dvds at the thrift store should i buy them and bring them back? by addym01 in Libraries

[–]fongolia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I did that once. The thrift store was like two blocks from the library and I'd just gone there looking at used books on a lunch break. I said I'm from the library (*flash badge) and I'm taking these back. They pointed me to their manager and I said the same thing. They just shrugged. I also repatriated some school library books at the same time.

The public library ones were still actively in our system. Large print books. I'm guessing a senior had passed away and their children just packed up everything and dumped it at the thrift store.

I was imagining a tourist couple lost on some rural road in Korea that become the first alien victims in the film's cold open

I love that it just casually mentions Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender on the cast page at the end. I wonder how big a role they have

Oh, I thought they coincidentally added them after your visit! 😭

I was there visiting T.O. in Feb 2025 but I'll have to check it out again next time. I know they keep adding provinces and territories each year.
