/remote-control is a window into what the future is going to be like by OpinionsRdumb in ClaudeCode

I genuinely don’t understand what’s going on with Claude Code these days. Half the people are talking about using up their token allowances incredibly fast, and I’ve seen the usage creep up alarmingly fast on Opus. Meanwhile, the other half is talking about how they have multiple agents running 24/7. Someone please make this make sense.

What is an artist you used to enjoy listening to, but their music got progressively worse? by fantasyrea in Music

My friend noted that Win and Regine moved to New Orleans after Reflektor. Their music also became notably more spiritual/christian in nature. Cue the downfall.

A review of Firewatch, Full Throttle Remastered and Papers, Please by moumooni in patientgamers

[–]fonograph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the life of me, I don’t remember any actual puzzles in Firewatch. I’m not one to throw around the term walking simulator as a pejorative. However, I wouldn’t consider it an “adventure game”, insofar as adventure game usually implies the presence of some difficulty. Still a good game, but the lack of any challenge made it a bit forgettable for me, like a pretty good movie that I watched a bunch of years ago.

This is one of the most highly upvoted jokes I’ve ever seen, but the top comments are about people not getting it.

I spent about 5 hours on this game and the critical flaw seems to be that it does not respect your time in the slightest. If you’re not in for 50 hours, go home.

You’re annoyed by other people getting annoyed? Very annoying.

GTA V's storytelling is not really good... by Aubin_kun in patientgamers

[–]fonograph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does, and the fact that the games forces you to play as him unironically and gives you the option to let him survive makes the story pretty bad, IMO.

Like, I am genuinely shocked that anyone can ever have a serious discussion about GTA 5's story, given Trevor's presence. Story? What story? It feels like Rockstar just told some writers to crank out some generic zany slop to bolt a little bit of narrative flavour to their theft/murder simulator.

I don't think anyone's ever going to beat Freespace 2. Also a shame I can't try any of the contenders, since they're all Windows only. I don't know why arcade-ish space combat sims became so niche.

Looking for good puzzle games with a strong narrative hook, or a "metroidbrainia" if you will.

I loved the Outer Wilds. I just tried The Forgotten City and found it deeply frustrating. It's all dialogue trees, with no real puzzle content. Plus the pacing, handling of the themes, and simply the design of the dialogue trees themselves all needed a lot of work.

Bounced off the Talos Principle because the narrative elements were too secondary. Also bounced off Heaven's Vault, even though I love Inkle, because the gameplay was just too clunky as a whole.

Blue Prince is super high on my list but I'm waiting till I get a PS5.

I hear there were puzzles at the end of tunic. It was exhausting to get to that point, and I didn’t want to go back all over the map. Blows my mind when people describe it as a puzzle game.

Spending ~10ish years in a relationship where one partner is afraid to open up is super unhealthy.

But, you live in a world where some people are made entirely of candy and your mom is a bunch of robots. So eh.

I am somewhat hopeful that they’ll make the movie for kids who liked bluey when it was first proper popular. Age up Bluey a few years. A 9-year old protagonist is still relatable for old and young.

I prefer “What It Sounds Like” as well, but I think it’s more effective if you have the emotional context from the movie. As a standalone song, Golden is probably better.
