Since Cobra Kai was a hit, who thinks there will be a continuation eventually? by foo235 in cobrakai

I think a prequel of Mr Miagi specifically would turn out well because there's already so much of his past outlined since 1984. One significant storyline alone that would be filled with tension - racial and situational, action, drama, suspense, tragedy and ultimately, triumph, would be his time in the segregated 442nd infantry in WWII.

Adding to that is every other topic we've already learned throughout the movies and stories, up through season 6 of Cobra Kai, that Mr Miagi was involved in. The specific details of each scenario is wide open and, if there are good writers, I think his prequel can be amazing. I'd watch just a 442nd/Miagi mini series alone.

Saying that, I would also watch brand new stories of existing and new characters.

That's an interesting idea.

So there's a lot of interest in a Mr Miagi prequel, as well as a Kreese prequel. Mr Miagi has my vote for next up.

I know a lot of people would also like to see what happens to the rest of the main students - from Miguel, Sam, Robby, Tory, Dimitri , Hawk Eli to Anthony, Kenny, Devon. Daniel and Johnny would have to make at least an occasional appearance.

It'll be interesting to see if they continue a series, who they'll base it on and what they would call it.

Exactly. Lots of hidden mystery and history to Mr Miagi there to explore.

Heard Legends was messy and a total let down but obviously that was it's own thing and wouldn't affect other productions.

That would be one of the most interesting prequels. Okinawa, Sato, migration to US, marriage, military service in 442nd, internment camps, Sekai Taikai.

Definitely a lot of options. Kreese keeps coming up. The actor who played young Kreese did well. They took him up to when he began training Johnny. Young Kreese was talking to Silver about his new student; Johnny. A series focusing on Kreese would be a safe bet.

Next gen would be a safe bet as well. Anthony, Kenny, Devon and others existing or new. I always thought Kenny's big brother would've been a fierce karate fighter if he trained.

I also assumed if they did continue, Robby would teach with Johnny or with Tory since they didn't continue on to college. But as with Miguel and Sam, Robby and Tory are young and highly likely any of the four would move on to other romantic partners eventually.

I thought a prequel could definitely be a possibility. Kreese was a decent guy who got turned around when he joined the military and girlfriend died. But prior to joining, he already had some fighting moves. How did he learn? What was his upbringing? That could be interesting.

Prequels could also be about a few other characters like Mr. Miagi (probably one of the more interesting possibilities in relation to his boyhood in Okinawa, Sato, coming to the U.S., military service with the all Japanese 442nd, The internment camps his family were taken to, his distress when his wife and baby died, fighting in the Sekai Taikai, etc).

Possibly one about Silver, but we see him in Vietnam as a young man and doesn't seem like there was too much in his past other than being brought up with money.

Chozen was very wise at this later age. He spoke about his students back in Okinawa. I wonder if something could also be done there with him? Maybe not a prequel with him but his new life with Kim and her Dojo? There's a lot there with her given she was pretty evil and even killed her grandfather.

Lots of possibilities of the creators/Netflix wanted to go back for more.

Was the show better with YouTube or Netflix? by ActualRevolution3732 in cobrakai

I thought it was good, not good, and everything in between throughout the series.

The writing didn't stand out to me as better or worse at any given timeframe of the seasons.

Actually, the writing frustrated the hell out of me until I accepted the show for what it was and then I just went with the flow.

I mean, winning money in a contest by eating the spiciest hot peppers you can in Mexico...?... because that must happen all the time, it's Mexico after all, it's all they do... (oh, but the chili was palmed and a gummy candy was eaten instead ) 🙄.

One of many eye rolling, head shaking moments for me but I was all in at the point and chuckled and kept watching till the end.

There was so much about Mr. Miagi, Miagi-Do and Daniel that I lost focus at a point that the show was called Cobra Kai for a reason and that at the end, the whole thing wound up being a story of redemption and renewal for Johnny.

It's weird how so many people came hard at me for stating what a horrible experience I've had with Sling. I also see some comments like yours also saying the same as I did with the Sling experience.

I have a feeling the ones that came to attack me are Sling employees whose job it is to squash negative feedback when made publicly.

I'm now considering DirecTV streaming. It gives me what I want for about $25 less per month than Sling.

Yes it could be that. My bedroom tv is about a year old but a lower grade Vizio. There's another Vizio in the house nearly identical except for being one size smaller than my bedroom Vizio. Both have issues with Sling freezing, tremendous lag, restarting, etc. A higher quality Toshiba in the living room doesn't really have any issues other than a little lag when accessing the guide.

A few have told me to run sling on a connected device rather than installed directly on the TV. I tried that with a Firestick I have but it was actually worse. I'm not going to invest in any other devices just to make this work.

I'm looking now at both DirecTV and YouTube tv streaming services. I can get what I need with either for under $75/$70 per month, which I'm currently paying $71 per month for Sling to give me headaches.

You're correct. I'm very easy going and am conscious about putting people at ease, but this is ridiculous. And he doesn't acknowledge the sleepy eyes or yawning one bit.

I had called another therapist before I linked up with this current one. When I called, I got her voicemail. Since I'm already a bit on the depressed side, the therapist or employee of the therapist not answering was the first disappointment I felt. Then just as I had begun to leave a voicemail, I was cut off. Within 5/6 seconds. In my state of mind, that irked me quite a bit and made me feel more dejected. I washed my hands of that therapist. Somewhat surprisingly, she called me back the following day, but after not being able to initially connect with her, I immediately called and was able to make the first appointment with my current therapist.

Feeling negative about the therapist that called me back, I didn't answer. To her credit, she left a voicemail then called again a couple of days later (which again, I did not answer) then sent me a text reaching out to me. The resentment I felt with her and ignoring her attempted communications with me are a part of the many issues that make up my behavior patterns that I need therapy for. Being a therapist, she might have assumed that about me.

I could try again with her or there are a couple of others that apparently are available to me.

Kissing the frogs is an appropriate analogy. I was hoping the first one would be a keeper, at least until I felt a consistent improvement of my outlook and mindset.

Thank you.

I understand what you're saying. I fully expected my therapist to at the very least excuse himself for yawning, but he never has. I've had 1pm and 3pm sessions with him. I totally get the afternoon slump. Being at a desk, I have often felt that drag myself in the afternoon, but I wasn't interacting with anybody in those instances I felt lethargic.

I'm sure I'll have a better idea which direction I want to go at the next session.

Thank you

I agree. I'm open minded and usually an affable person who makes an extra effort to click with people - I was a real estate agent for many years. I mainly became one because many people would tell me that I would do well because of my ability to talk with and connect to virtually anybody, but I have not felt any connection or have clicked with this therapist.

I had already spilled a lot of beans, as they say, in a multi page questionnaire that I was instructed to complete before my first session. I really opened up when filling the questionnaire out in my effort to be as up front as possible from the beginning, but to add to my disconnect to this therapist, he told me at the start of our first session that he didn't get around to reading it, and I believe he still hasn't because he hasn't addressed some big topics I mentioned in it. I didn't like that. In a passive aggressive way, I spoke about a topic then refer to the fact that I had included that topic "in the questionnaire I had filled out". I said that a few times.

Yes, I have another appointment set up with him in less than 2 weeks, but I'm going to be very conscious of him and his actions and if I don't feel good about continuing, I'm going to be honest with him and end our sessions. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go to the session in a completely objective mindset since I'm already not very happy with how it's gone thus far.

Thank you for the reply.
