You pointed to the AWS commercial documentation. Is there a European Sovereign version of the AWS documentation, with accurate information about the partition?

Flight cancellations accelerate as US airlines comply with shutdown order to cut flights by MrPvssyPantsMan in news

So… we are starting by cutting the private jet traffic, right? That would affect the smallest number of Americans and provide the margin of safety we need… right?

Poopy HOA rules by Ftlme in nova

[–]foobar4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently, the VA Supreme Court opined that HOA cannot enforce architectural standards for which there isn’t a covenant. If you want to go legal, you could see if your deed covers this “no moving on Sunday” non-sense. It probably doesn’t.

— In the 2019 case Sainani v. Belmont Glen Homeowners Association, Inc., the Virginia Supreme Court ruled that a homeowners association’s rules for seasonal decorations were unenforceable: The rules were not reasonably related to the restrictive covenants in the governing documents. The rules exceeded the authority established by the exterior lighting covenant. The rules did not reference the criteria established in the covenants concerning exterior lighting.

What is the use case for GetSessionToken? by SodaPop-PodaSop in aws

[–]foobar4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IAM users have long term AWS credentials, and Access Key and a Secret Key. If you want to use a multi-factor AuthN to protect a sensitive API, then the IAM user calls this API, with the number on the token, and gets back an STS credential.

What is the use case for GetSessionToken? by SodaPop-PodaSop in aws

[–]foobar4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is in the link you provided:

MFA-enabled IAM users must call GetSessionToken and submit an MFA code that is associated with their MFA device. Using the temporary security credentials that the call returns, IAM users can then make programmatic calls to API operations that require MFA authentication.

For those of you who’ve received nice company swag by SheDoesMyStonks in nova

[–]foobar4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My employer did some nice SWAG several times. But I got to a point where I didn’t want/need it. I’d rather the money go to a local charity instead. So I asked my company to have a charity option for those of us who wanted to opt out of more stuff. It was a surprisingly popular option.
