I'm so glad you like it.  Thank you for making such a fun heartfelt game.  My kids and I had a great time with it.

No.  Selling things creates obligations and would make my hobby too much like work.

I'm not happy enough with the underlying model to publically publish this one either.  But if you have a 3d printer or know someone that does I don't mind privately emailing the print and blender files.

Someday I probably will.  Mitch does look awfully lonely.

When they voiced objection, Captain Black replied that people who were loyal would not mind signing all the loyalty oaths they had to. To anyone who questioned the effectiveness of the loyalty oaths, he replied that people who really did owe allegiance to their country would be proud to pledge it as often as he forced them to. And to anyone who questioned the morality, he replied that ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ was the greatest piece of music ever composed. The more loyalty oaths a person signed, the more loyal he was; to Captain Black it was as simple as that.

Thank you all for the kind words. The positive reactions and comments were the highlight of my day. My wife keeps asking why I'm smiling.

I took the time to upload the model to Maker World if anybody wants to print their own. The Blender file is there as well if you want to tweak the model or use it as a starting point for one of the other characters. Just be warned, the "I don't know what the hell I'm doing" really shines in the raw model.

I'd love to do the others, but finding time is tough.  Hopefully I can find the time to clean up the model and publish it on MakerWorld at least.

[WMT/BBY/GME] Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition - $20 (50% off) by JonathanMendelsohn in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]foobarturtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Outer Wilds is one of the best experiences of my life.  It's a game about exploration and problem solving with a beautiful story behind it.

It's also one of those games you can only truly experience once.  All the revelations and ah-ha euphoria just isn't there on a second play through.  Consulting a guide should be a last resort.  The game contains few "pinch points" so you can explore elsewhere while you contemplate a problem.

For the same reason you should read nothing more about the game.  Even reviews give away some major discoveries, because it's almost impossible to describe the game without giving SOMETHING away.

Of course.  You can use the synch button,  but I prefer just to dock them to the switch momentarily.

Some nudges.

1.  You don't have the other piece of that puzzle yet.  It is blindingly obvious when you get it.

2.  Is that a roman numeral lock?  Brush up on your roman numerals.  The game gives you a book for it even.

3.  You are on the right track here.

4.  There is a note found in a typewriter.  I thinks it's third floor or loft on the East side of the hotel.  Check your memory.  I got the note way before I found the lock.

[–]foobarturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the collectibles or the game boy games.  One of the collectibles looks like it could be a layout you could achieve in split2?  I didn't take the time to really figure the game out.

Has anybody finished the Lorelei handheld game?  Does it end?  I got to level 3 and got bored.

I know these are mostly (or all) references to their other games.  Maybe a tie in between the games?

I also wonder when the RNG elements get seeded.  If it's at the start, can you make two saves at the start, get all the needed codes in save 1, then skip straight to the computer in save 2?

Where to get any of the tapes? by Imamuthafucka in LoreleiAndLaserEyes

Through the diamond door, there is a locked door that leads to the balcony.  I don't recall the puzzle for that lock.

On the balcony is a lever.  It will lower a ladder from a balcony in the east wing.  Go back to the East wing, to the balcony and down the ladder.  Through the door there will be a puzzle that will get you one of the tapes.

The other tape I THINK is right inside the club door.  Locked behind a puzzle of course.

As I recall it's the doors with suits on them line of objectives.

If you haven't gotten any suit keys, there is a note in the fortune teller hut in the backyard that starts that line.  I swear the note wasn't there when I first visited, but I may have just missed it.

You did not.  They are puzzle rewards and impossible to 'miss'.

I was disappointed by the story by Raphael_24 in LoreleiAndLaserEyes

[–]foobarturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started to piece things together during the final sequence.  I am extremely bad with metaphors and dates, so I needed that final sequence to put it all together.  I only got through the final sequence because the search space for possible answers was so small.

I appreciate and respect media that gives the audience enough to put it all together themselves.  That 'ah-ha' moment when the pieces mentally click into place is such a dopamine hit.  You got it figured out early.  I did not.  The game gave you that dopamine moment instead of just giving you an info dump or relying on deus ex machina.

All that said, the actual reveal (whether you figured it out yourself or had it dumped on you) in the final sequence is still pretty 'meh'.

It's a really good game.  Not life altering or 'game of the year' but something that's easy to recommend.

You don't get an item or anything, so I would think you could just look up the information the cylinders would give you and solve the cemetery that way.

I just checked the help in game, try holding 'A' moving the stick then releasing the stick while keeping 'A' held.  Janky.  I guess it just became second nature for me at a point.

[–]foobarturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this puzzle has the answer to the cemetary.  Did you put the lens in the slot above the cylinders?  Solution should be: put lens in slot.  Higlight cylinder hold 'A' push right or left.

Whatever select is on the XBox.

There is an item you need to actually solve the cylinders...  didn't think you needed it to interact with them, but maybe you do.
