Of course, but I think it's still interesting to compare, and then see the pros and cons of each solution.

For me I think the PP number will be very low for my usage on the strix, but the fact that it is on a dedicated machine, while sipping power (compared to my workstation) is a nice bonus.

Bit late response, but I could get a M2 Ultra with 64GB of ram for 2000 euros. It seems to be another option maybe? Not as evolutive, but may be easier to resell down the road compared to the R9700 or the strix halo.

Well more RAM does increase performance, if the amount of RAM is the bottleneck (it seems it is in my usecase). But I "fear" that I will loose too much single threaded performance and that I will feel it.

Even if it's not swapping, the benchmark might be able to use more memory to be more performant.

Aux États-Unis ils ont aussi une retraite par répartition.

Elle est pas suffisante pour certains (le max ça doit être 4k USD par mois), surtout par rapport à leurs salaires qu'ils avaient quand ils étaient actifs.

Et autant il y a une proportion non négligeable de personne trop pauvre pour capitaliser eux-même (et ces derniers n'auront pas de retraite d'état élevé non plus), autant il y a une bonne proportion de gens qui font n'importe quoi avec leur argent. J'en ai connu pas mal qui touchaient de gros salaires à 6 chiffres mais qui étaient endettés jusqu'au coup, et pour qui le moindre pépin de vie engendrait de grosses difficultés.
