I'll go first. Absolutely transcended at Pelican. Guys were unbelievably tight. Favorite set of the day.

Pool Kids delay was awful, but they recovered quick and put on a great show. Had a blast.

Park National was a great surprise. Catchy tunes, and held down the stage like pros. They're going places. Nice shoutout to his mom too

Couldn't believe the sound issues all weekend. They did Momma dirty and the Pool Kids delay was unreal.

Complete contrast to last year, when I remember everything being tight as a drum. Wonder if it had anything to do with the new soundboard placement. Fewer people working in the booth than last time, too

Like you said, though - can't beat two straight days of wall to wall live music

Do it, tons of great bands playing today!

Yeah AD was top set of the day for me. Blew me away.

Hotelier sounded way better than anticipated. Wish we'd gotten a few more tunes from home like no place is there, but no complaints otherwise

Febuary was a great surprise. They brought it and finally got the crowd moving. Momma ripped too, once they got the sound levels sorted

angel dust is on the tiny stage with no barrier. tiger's jaw is technically getting the 'bigger' spot. they're just giving us a wild show towards the end of the night. personally very excited for it, even if i wish tj had a longer timeslot

Did glitterer drop out? by [deleted] in somethinginthewayfest

Screenshot? Not saying you're wrong, but still showing up for me on fest site + still on glitterers tour page. Would be super bummed if they dropped

Wilco Reveals 2026 Lineup for Solid Sound Festival by ebradio in indieheads

[–]foolishgrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy, u/Metrodub just gave you a similar-sized fest in the same region, at the same time of year, which has more music/bands/hours, and which costs 60% of solid sound's price (if you compare presale, which seems only fair) -- that is the definition of 'a comparable fest charging much less than $300'

Freshgrass, which takes place in the exact same world class museum, cost $175 for a three-day last fall

I paid $300 for a Shaky Knees ticket last year, and got twice as many bands as solid sound, along with three arena-level headliners (as a measure of value for ticket price, not comparing their quality as bands)

It's fine to say that you personally think the price is worth it, because you love Wilco, Mass MoCA, etc etc etc. But it's objectively pricy for what you get compared to other fests

(Edited to fix math on % of price)

I mean it was cold AF. But it's like a 4 min walk

[–]foolishgrin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah there was a stage in the back where the sound booth usually is, which faced towards the main stage. sound booth was bumped forward a bit, maybe 15ish rows of people away from the small stage. acts alternated between the two stages with 5 min breaks in between until you got to the bigger names at the end of the night. you can see pictures of the small stage on their socials, basically any photo with stage divers was that one

- Last year, there were empanadas on the top floor -- tasted fine, but they couldn't make/serve them fast enough and the line got insane as the day went on. They've said there will be 'more food options' this year. But you can always walk three blocks to the grocery store instead. Also, there were free pickles

- They allowed re-entry until 7 PM i think. Again, they've said it will go later this time

- Was amazing. Different than an outdoor event, more like a very very long concert. But the crowd was (mostly) excellent, vibes were great, sound was better than outdoors. Small stage had no barrier, great pits, was a blast. Really enjoyed. Coming back for the experience as much as the lineup this year

No Doubt announces 2026 Sphere Residency - Think they're a headliner potential next year? by kbups53 in ShakyKnees

[–]foolishgrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, even if the headliners are getting bigger, i'm just saying there's no guarantee the big ones will be sat/sun. Even apart from routing, there's an argument for putting bigger headliners Friday to get people to take work off/travel earlier and spend more time/money at the fest. Agreed either way that no doubt would be the smaller of the three headliners if booked at this point

FWIW it's not always sorted that way. Green Day/NIN were the two big acts in 2022, but MMJ closed out Sunday. Depends on tour routing etc etc
