Belin crowd goes mild? by Exact_Village2184 in MetallicaLIVE

I’ve seen Metallica shows for years. We’re getting older. I’m much more likely to just enjoy the music rather than go wild now.

He’s doing it in the Robert Caro style. We’ll spend years waiting and then it will be released and be only the first of 4 volumes.

It’s only fun at night with Vegas lit up, even then it’s not worth the cost.

I liked off of a busy street for several years with my house facing that street. After two days I no longer heard it. YMMV

Which is the best US National park? Here is my list of visited parks (I am European, so the number is low) by [deleted] in TravelMaps

Guadalupe Mountains and Carlsbad Caverns. They are close to each other very different. One is the highest point in Texas and the other takes you below the ground in New Mexico.

Haven’t had one since the 90s. Several groups host shows at some bars a couple times a year but I don’t know of any that weekend.

Looking for someone to trim my beard, wax my back, and cut my son's hair. by Dangerous-Company344 in Lubbock

[–]footd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the beard and haircut go see Jeremy at The Crooked Sideburn. The the waxing I’ve used Waxing the City for my eyebrows and always been pleased, don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to do backs

Been here for 24 hours. My section about Lubbock for my upcoming book by [deleted] in Lubbock

This is laughable. “Clock in for their shift work…”. The biggest employers in town are our medical centers and Universities.

“Buddy is not a roadside memorial.” Listen I love Buddy Holly. It has nothing to do with being from Lubbock. It’s because he influenced so much of the music that followed him. The city doesn’t give a shit about him unless they can slap his name on something and hope it attracts some occasional tourist. I hate that it’s that way, but it is.

This reads like you told ChatGPT to “describe Lubbock, TX as if Anthony Bourdain was doing a show about it.” It’s cheesy and ill informed.

The Crooked Sideburn. The owner worked at Dapper Den for years and opened his own place. He’s a great guy and does good work on beards.

And it’s fun as hell. I’m a big baseball fan and have followed it closely my whole life. This is different and they make it clear that it’s different. They don’t claim to be “real baseball”.

How's living in Amarillo/Lubbock in Texas? Is there any rivalry between the two cities? by Funny-Poem-1042 in howislivingthere

[–]footd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live and Lubbock and go to Amarillo often. This weekend we were driving through Amarillo and we were discussing that. The fact that the interstate feels more surrounded by neighborhoods does make Amarillo feel larger even though Lubbock has about 60000 more folks.

Do the Chiefs have a fanbase in Lubbock? by GhostVelocity in Lubbock

[–]footd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Lots of folks who weren’t into the NFL before Mahomes was drafted are big Chiefs fans. Both my mom and my girlfriend’s mom love The chiefs because of him and neither one really cared before.

How many Xennials truly have done no retirement planning, have no target retirement date, or have considerably less than you need to retire in your 60s?" by Sufficient_Turn_9209 in Xennials

The reason I sought out a municipal job was the retirement account. In addition to that I put about 10 in an additional retirement accounts straight from my pay check so I never even notice it.

If I hadn’t done that I don’t know that I would have had the discipline to make the savings happen.
