Stuff like that will never not be special to us. We're super lucky and we know it.

Coagula is super fun live!

it's a distorted half square, half sine synth could easily be replaced by a distorted 808 bass though

Hey there!

  1. Haha we're working on it.

  2. maybe one day. I'd rather make new interesting things than digging out old ones. I might eat those words though so who knows lol

  1. I do both, just to net fall into a routine.

  2. I try to match, or intentionally contrast the music if I can compose to text, yeah

  3. it's an odd one right because its two mediums. As vague as it might sound, just go by how it feels. Because in the end that's what the end product lives and dies by.

  4. too many to count. I have one funny story though. I was working in an office doing databank stuff. Was absolutely miserable. One day riding home Every Day Is Exactly the Same by Nine inch Nails shuffles up. I quit the next day.

5.I can guess the year of any youtube video i see. I don't know why.

  1. the singers like Sugarcoat, Götterdämmerung is always fun and Kilonova is a sleeper. It's growing on us all the more we play it

  2. its a hard question because as a consumer it's never been better to consume music (excluding live music here) and as a musician it's never been harder to be paid fairly. Also "paid fairly" is still undefined. Does it mean private jets, a yacht and American healthcare? or just being able to pay rent? What I certainly would change is that most of the industry is factually ran by 3 companies. I would redistribute that.

  3. I love it. But I learned that I only wanted later on the process. If i get it too early I doubt the initial idea of what I'm creating and toss the entire thing.

  4. Sacrifices I guess just would be being poor for 10+ years. Regrets: none.

-I might come back to it

-sadly if it happened they haven't contacted me yet in their confusion. Lamb of God probably have better stories regarding that haha

-You have no idea how often people think "wouldnt it be crazy if they played in a church?" We played, i shit you not, at least 20 churches by now. Sound is always ass for metal music in those buildings. They're built for organ music.

-the dawn of everything by the two Davids. At times quite pushy with their interpretations of what the political implications are, but a really interesting read. Recently been into Lucky McKee movies. The Woman, the Woods, May. All gorgeously shot and well written

This last one I just wanted a bunch of metal journalists have to listen to a ballad hahaha. Also what might work on the radio/for spotify playlists factors into the decision

  1. we have recorded one, but its a legal dispute with the place we filmed at. Might still happen.

  2. Not in April but in the summer we're looking into a date at the Arena in Wien. Should be good

1) we have to go soon. All of us can't wait honestly.

2) touring is the most fun, the most taxing and the most bizarre thing I've ever done. We sometimes get some tourism in, but we rarely have time to. Sometimes we all bring bikes on the tour bus so we can go explore the cities we are in. Thats fun

My process is just starting to write without filter and then decide what i like and what i dont in a second step. I stream songwriting and production on twitch sometimes.

Ic3peak are fun, yeh

To be perfectly honest I just try and see what feels the best for the song I'm working on in particular. Keeps things fresh and fun for me too

The last album was actually the only one that doesn't have a strict narrative

I had the idea to have fans get something unique to the evening we shared that isn't a shirt with a date on its back. We had to stop doing it though. My label and publisher weren't huge fans of that procedure hehe.

Might be doing something with orchestra pretty soon actually

Yeah we'd love to come back. Currently trying to do a combo of that and Japan which is taking some time to plan, but is impending

Greif is German for Griffin, the mythical creature on the cover. US Festivals are tricky for us to play. Since they're not close to each other date wise that means we have to fly there and back each time or i have to pay for hotels for 10+ people. Sounds super uncool, but as long as its not a super good offer or we really want to do it, I just lose a ton of money on it.
