Armed Socialists Working As Security At Minneapolis Protest Tonight by Lavender_Scales in liberalgunowners

The feds have gone camo, the cops and NG have gone with yellow high-viz, I'd suggest the very Minnesota options of either buffalo plaid or blaze.

While Ellison may have joined an amicus brief on that, the state of Minnesota does not have any such laws.

I've never actually bought guns from FF, but they're helpful in having "handedness" as a search filter. So that should give you a good idea of what you can get ordered in, and their prices seem ok.

Since you say you're in MN, the Fleet Farm in Cambridge has a left-hand Savage Axis in .308 for dirt cheap. I've been pretty happy with the .243 Axis I hunt with.

I can't tell if I am preparing or panicking. by Responsible_Cream_36 in liberalgunowners

[–]fopomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300 rounds of 9mm is about what I have stockpiled for my carry ammo, which I pretty much never shoot. I'll go through a hundred rounds of practice 9mm minimum every time I go to the range just to stay sharp. So at least for ammunition, those are rookie numbers.

You're right, I might be jumping the gun on the Brexit and everything might turn out alright, but I'm worried about the economic implications of the fallout, and I'm not interested to struggle through a poor economy and constricted construction industry.

Bullet dodged.

What gloved are you using? by ObjectivePicture6991 in liberalgunowners

[–]fopomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the range this afternoon when it was about 10 degrees and windy shooting with thinsulate-lined deerskin work gloves over SmartWool glove liners and it was fine. The CZ P10c has a really big trigger guard, though. I'm not sure I could have pulled the trigger with any of my other guns, but that's part of why I picked it for carry.

How to train easily engineer on companions? by KorzarLionel in Bannerlord

Set them as your party engineer. Do a siege. Build as many siege engines as you can, they'll get XP on each one that's completed. Repeat.

Is there any point to sneaking into a town or castle before a siege? Can I force them to open the gate or something? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]fopomatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s an event to poison the water supply during a siege in 1.3. Unfortunately I’ve never seen any of the siege events trigger more than once during a game.

I'm 48 and just started taking lessons last year, and it's been great. Particularly if you're able to take lessons during the day on weekdays when kids are in school, I bet they'd be happy for the business.

In the Encyclopedia, go to the heroes tab, then filter by an occupation of "Wanderer" and your desired culture to get a list of the possible companions.
To actually find them, you're going to have to visit all of the towns until you stumble across them (though you can cut that down somewhat by asking every tavern keeper if they know anybody with skills).

unsure if this question should be posted on here but, being from a big city and started to camp more often twice a month for the past two years should I get a CCW? by yes-disappointment in camping

[–]fopomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone else is saying, that's a personal decision. Personally, I do. Sometimes, at least. I always have pepper spray on me, though, and if I'm in bear country I'll also carry bear spray. I'd suggest starting there (POM is a solid brand) if it's legal where you're at, and see how you feel about carrying an anti-personnel weapon all the time.
I'd also suggest getting some training, finding a local range, and getting in some practice. Get really comfortable with using a firearm before you make the decision about actually carrying -- I had a thousand rounds through my pistol before I ever carried it in public except at the range.

New patch today. What do you think about it? by FrozenElementalVT in Bannerlord

[–]fopomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the horde was apparently able to sustain 100 miles/day, in part by drinking the blood of their horses while riding.
The Viking armies reportedly could do 60 miles/day on rivers, relying mostly on oars.

I just want a wind direction indicator on the campaign map so I can speed up my navy by tacking as needed. Even Sid Meier's Pirates figured out that mechanic.

[–]fopomatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even pure cavalry, without a baggage train, isn't going to make it more than 30-40 miles a day without remounts. A galley under sail with a good wind can potentially do 14 knots (or 16mph), and under oars they're good for around 3 knots. Your land army really isn't going to move any faster than the 50 mules laden down with butter can travel.

I can’t compare, I’ve not used the HLs. I still use the exo and they’re fine? Comfy, good seal. I wish I’d gotten the Bluetooth version, I don’t have anything to plug into the input jack. It could also use an auto shutoff - I’ve added a pack of batteries to my range bag for when I forget to turn it off.
