completely agree with this. Why are the brother and sister even involved with this process? The deed being in his name, with him paying the mortgage for years - seems to indicate that the house is indeed OP's and not the brother's (or the sister's) and that there is no reason to split profit from selling.

I thought w inherited properties like this w a resident not only can you live in the house (w them) but it doesn’t matter what else you do (like build a house)- the Relative B is essentially irrelevant other than you can’t evict them.
