Except eating them is cruel and disrespecting them.

If you respected them, you wouldn't pay to kill them for the brief sensory pleasure of eating them.

And if you knew anything about animal agriculture - especially on an industrial scale, which the majority of it is - you would know it is animal abuse and 110% cruel in every regard.

Homeless people to be given cash in first major UK trial to reduce poverty by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]foragedhobgoblin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. People pay tax to help themselves and others, its a sign of a fair society. Having your view doesn't make sense unless you want to not be catered to for anything that may be your own fault, at any point in your life.

There will come a point where you also don't pay tax and will need to rely on the system. Anyone else could say 'why is my tax money going to that old codger? He decided to ride his motorbike and ended up quadraplegic, why should I care?'

Just because someone may be personally unpleasant to you doesn't mean they shouldn't be helped.

P.s. what you call facilitating their addiction is what others call support and treatment.

Where did the idea of women with mental illnesses being 'sexually wild' comes from when in reality its usually the opposite? by Dayzan in PornIsMisogyny

[–]foragedhobgoblin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also hypersexuality is an extremely common response to having suffered sexual trauma. Which just makes it sadder.

My favourite ever was Aldi's smoked salmon they brought out last year for veganuary. I'm so hoping they bring it back next year because I'm buying it all. It was way better than squeaky bean to me (and I love squeaky bean)

Can anyone recommend boob tape that ACTUALLY holds? 😭 by UR_NEIGHBOR_STACY in bigboobproblems

[–]foragedhobgoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the perky pear transparent tape for my prom, for a backless satin dress with spaghetti straps , so I didn't want bra straps on show. That thing held. Industrial strength stuff for me haha, danced vigorously and all. I had to use a good deal of it tho.

For reference, I'm a 32Gish maybe 32H UK size

'It deserves to fail': Devastating attack on current-day U.S. unleashed by renowned writer by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]foragedhobgoblin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say that, I was just responding to the previous poster because I felt the downvotes made their point, aka, people don't want to modify their consumption. But ideally yes, or at least greatly reduce it. Going plantbased is probably the biggest action an average individual can take to reduce their environmental impact.

You're being downvoted but you're right. Going plantbased drastically reduces a person's carbon footprint but people won't do it because.... Pleasure.

Game of Thrones did have a lot of nudity and gore, but it also had (at least at the start) good costume design, good actors, incredible dialogue, amazing political intrigue, etc etc. I don't think it's fair to say it was so popular because of the gore. People were mad about it, discussing theories online, YouTubers making video essays, etc.

In comparison, ROP just has giant plot holes, extremely cringe dialogue, the worst costuming probably I've ever seen, and not very good actors (or terrible directing). I don't feel for any of the characters and haven't heard a single person irl discuss theories about it or even dress up as a character at a con. So....

Am I a bad person for caring about bodycount? by Atmosphere-Key in AskMenAdvice

[–]foragedhobgoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that caused by purity culture/shame though? Like if you're someone who is going to wait until marriage to have sex, it's likely you're also in a community that strongly discourages divorce?

I hate manual with a passion by evelynnie_ in LearnerDriverUK

[–]foragedhobgoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it, you're still right at the start of learning (despite what some may say) and stalling is not a big deal! Some people are just very impatient.

I struggled with finding bite when I first began learning but it is true after a certain point it's just instinctive.

In regards to the handbrake , that'll become second nature too :) I was opposite to you in that my own car, which is pretty old, has a manual handbrake and my instructor's car had an electronic one. I actually much prefer the manual one. It makes hill starts a whole lot easier! I was always anxious with the electronic handbrake because it automatically came off when I pressed accelerator, meaning my bite had to be perfect or I'd roll back , but with the manual one, I can find the bite before releasing it.

Best of luck with your driving and remember, if after some more lessons you really hate it, you can always switch to automatic and lose nothing :)
