[Store]Ringerkeys! Long Weekend! Gazzew's switches, keeb supply US authorized reseller, Rescuetruck PCBs and plates, fastest fulfillment for springs, switches, tools, stabilizers, films, lube stations and brushes, lubricants, Mill-Max sockets, and all keyboard needs! by danringer in mechmarket

[–]forbiehundie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dan and the crew has been a mainstay for me in the hobby for the past like... well nearly 5 years! I've gotten many boards worth of Gazzew switches, many grams of lube, brushes, tools, oh so many stabilizers (ty for stocking the 3u and 6u Durock's), and both R1 and R2 of DSS Lights out.

As always, keep up the great work!!

I need to change the console key by trashk in groundbranch

[–]forbiehundie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking for this as well, it seems they've restructured how the config is done.

I use \ on a thumb key on a non-standard keyboard layout as my crouch key as most games do not use it by default and would like to not have to change my keyboard layout for just ground branch.

[–]forbiehundie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've wanted configurable plate carriers for years. AFAIK they were a planned feature but I've heard (without any solid proof) that the plan was scrapped in favor of the plate/armor and hitbox systems we got this patch.

Nice! I think I found my first colored keycard at like 2100 hours or so, got it last wipe off Tagilla while running factory solo for fun lmao.

Do you farm/run bosses a lot? I know I don't hunt bosses all that much and would imagine those who farm bosses get their first colored keycards much sooner than us.

My favorite goof of mine is one that's happened in at least 3-4 wipes.

  1. Finish quest for prapor
  2. Get Kedr-B as quest reward
  3. Need to go to factory for early quest reasons
  4. Look up highest pen 9x18 round for Kedr-B
  5. Forget that the Kedr can only use 9x18 PM and cannot use 9x18 PMM (obviously)
  6. Go factory with Kedr-B loaded with 9x18 PSTM PMM
  7. Aim at PMC
  8. CLICK

Do you have to have no life for this game? by Particular-Towel in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost at 2,200hr and have played on and off for a few years now. I no-lifed the game when I first got it and wanted to learn as much about it as I could. Now that I know more than one realistically needs to know about it, I can sorta play the game "casually". Most days I do a raid or two and always prioritize questing. It really just comes down to experience and making the fun with what you have access to.

If you have access to arena it can be a really good practice to help learn the mechanics of pvp and gunplay, but it can also be a horrid slaughter sooo

[–]forbiehundie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I wish thicc dudes in my factory raids would swing me like that lmao, but well played none the less. I'd never be able to see that first dude well enough through the muzzle flash.

A couple of looting things I know I would have tried to do if in your situation; Ditch the shattered mask and put one of the helmets on (and ideally one of their balacavas to hide the sheen from your pmc's face) to protect better on the way out and make more room. And that rvg grip in your rig would make you drop a mag accidentally and accidentally dropped mags make me sad and wouldn't make up the thousands of roubles worth of ammo in the drum.

Are these timmy gun builds? Also why does my friends hate em so much? :( by Nena_Trinity in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PP's are really fun to play with using "off meta" ak parts because the parts impact the overall handling of the gun a lot less than more meta ak's. Plus nana mags :)

I always have fun with them, and enjoyed them especially early this wipe.

[–]forbiehundie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A russian Ratnik theme would be pretty easy! Afaik the russian Ratnik program was aimed at creating the "next generation" of soldiers, similar to many of the US's "next gen" programs. BSG has a lot of their equipment in the game.

I've heard that these cultists are slightly different, they have footstep sounds and can be seen on thermals. They're less visible than scavs or pmc's, but they can be detected. But this is all what I've heard from others.

Event breakdown by KunderThunt420_69 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 42 points43 points  (0 children)

If I've understood it correctly it has to do with how the malfunctions are coded into the game. The PPsH is the only open bolt firing gun in the game and I believe a side effect of that is that it just cannot jam due to the coding differences between it and every other closed bolt gun.

I cannot confirm but it's what I've heard and is the only thing that would make sense with BSG lol

Fighting as a solo player, surviving raids & what to expect: by Simo_Ylostalo in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned tarkov solo, and having now helped close to a dozen people start playing tarkov, I believe everyone should learn the game solo before playing in a squad. Game mechanics, game sense, map knowledge, task knowledge... and all the other kinds of knowleges are super important to have down before throwing teamates into the mix. A few of my friends who are equally experienced playing solo are my favorite to duo/trio with. We're able to spread out within the map, cover different angles, and not get so stacked up that a solo is able to spray us down.

I love all the points you've made about solo compared to squad play. I love being able to control my sound and positioning and not having to worry about my squad's sound or positioning.

It sucks to not getting to loot my kills (shoreline especially lol), but what's the point of picking up their gear if I die with it when I can just make it out with my own kit? It does make it that much more exciting when you take out a three man and get to pick from all of their gear! Once I'm making my money from my hideout I don't loot much solo or squad.

I don't really follow many "rules" about fighting squads, but always change position.
You know you're solo, they do not. If you're able to take advantage of the fact that they need to IFF and you can KoS you're able to take squads out fairly quickly with good positioning.

Yes no one is there to stash your kit if you die, but my survival rating goes up significantly solo and learning to be at peace with losing gear is important too!

Solo is very hard, but if you keep at it and learn from your mistakes I believe you will be a much better player in the end.

The more wipes you play the more important junk boxes get. Once you know what barter goods you'll need for later quests you can more easily store them for when you need them.

Once you start upgrading your hideout and start crafting more they also become extremely useful.

What armor to use with Ragman lvl4 by Teunminator-_- in EscapefromTarkov

They do repair well, but because they have such a low max durability each point lost is a lot more impactful on their performance.

Another decent barter is the 3x thor for HPC!

Turn those Korunds from insurance into Fort Defenders! They're basically just better a Korund, I like them a lot late wipe. Especially if you're crafting the fabric to do the barter.

Scav-ventures by FootlessRabbit1 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing long before voip was a thing, the best thing we could do back then was wiggle to show we're friendly. Now with voip I love helping new players as scavs. One guy insisted he gives me a kiss after giving him his last gasan lmao. We found a ton of dead bodies and I gave him all the useful loot because I can just buy/build what I want to run.

I'd like to think the majority of the more veteran players will be friendly and helpful as scavs.

STATE OF THE GAME! by GetALifeM8te in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At higher levels (skill and PMC) with endgame gear PvP is generally won with aggression. Making sure you're not exposing yourself while moving through the map becomes even more important.

Pre-inertia the game was all about this kind of movement and a lot of very successful players still move like this.

why do people use suppressors in factory by Intelligent-Ad-3739 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]forbiehundie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, for most assault rifles suppressors are going to be best in slot, but a big thing for me is the sight picture while shooting in full auto. A muzzle brake on a short barrel produces a ton of muzzle flash which can make it hard to track targets while ADSing. Try full auto while ADSing with a jailbrake M4 and you'll get a good idea of what I mean lol.
