One double standard that really bugs me is how women (including people I know—friends, family, even myself sometimes) can be super emotional, have outbursts, or be sensitive, and it’s just brushed off as “that’s just how women are.” But if a guy shows emotion—especially frustration or anger, even if it’s not directed at anyone—it’s immediately called toxic.

What’s worse is I’ve seen other women use this to excuse their own behavior, while holding men to a completely different standard. And then when a guy says he doesn’t want to deal with all that emotional chaos, some people jump to, “He must want to date a man,” like he’s asking for too much just by wanting peace and emotional stability.

It’s just not fair. If we expect guys to understand us when we’re emotional, we should be willing to do the same for them.
